The Wrath of God.... How could God have such character?

Many people believe that God is full of love and merciful. So, they argue that if God was so full of love and mercy, He would not have done such anger. I think this thinking is misconception and it is drawn by Evil who is trying to make such misconception to the mankind. So, evil would like to tell us that it is okay to do sins. It is part of evil's efforts to make doubtful about God's existence. So far, man people have falled into this notion. From many scriptures, God has made no attempt to concel the fact of His wrath. He is not ashamed to make it known that vengeance and fury belong unto Him. Please note that Because God is holy, He hates all sin; and because He hates all sin, His anger burns against the sinner. Psalm 89:35: "Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David". "The wrath of God is His eternal detestation of all unrighteousness. It is the displeasure and indignation of Divine equity against evil. It is the holiness of God stirred into activity against sin". If there was no anger of God, humans could have done whatever they would like to do. The wrath of God is also one of His perfections. It tells us that He is Divine and He created all of this Universe and you are one of His creations. However, while God will vindicate His dominion as the Governor of the universe, He will not be vindictive. Please share your thoughts.....

its good that you recognize the he does have the ability to show wrath. Many people do ignore that fact. But that wrath is a perfect wrath because since he created all living things he has the right to demand they live a certain way and therefore also has the right to show anger when its not done his way. and its mentioned even more places in the bible than what you've shared already.

I don't believe that God is as vengeful as people make him out to be. I think that all this wrath stu is just made up by extremeists of various religions to scare people into towing a certain line.

It is up to you whether you want to believe it or not. We will never know it until the end of time. Of course, God is not vengeful. What he can't forgive is sins (and not our wholeness).
