horrible typhoon and the ferry sinking with 700 souls, no survivors. I searched the posts and found no mention of this terrible disaster. How are your people doing? You'll all be in my prayers.

It's a sad state that Princess of the Stars sank with more than 700 people aboard near Sibuyan Island near Romblon. I think its a case of poor judgment on the shipping line's side and the Coast Guard's side... Everyone knew that Frank is a big storm, they shouldn't have let the boat leave the dock!!! Now everyone's pointing fingers and the midget president who's in the US as of the moment did nothing but scolded the head of the Coast Guard during a press conference. It's a shame! Regarding the whole state of the country now that Frank has wreaked havoc, don't you find it weird that the government DOES NOT prepare for situations like this? Everything and everyone seems to be reactionary ...the government only reacts when something has already happened. Everyone knows that during these months it's the rainy season. Everyone should have prepared for things like these to occur. Prevention is better than cure... How will they explain their negligence to the victims of the storm??? More storms are coming along the way and I hope they will not be as bad as this one.

You mean Bush scolded the coast guard?! What a joke he is. Our country still has people suffering from Hurricane Katrina years ago. You're right, preparation is better than reacting. But it doesn't seem to make sense to governments. And are you okay? Obviously, you have a computer working, but I hope you suffered no damage.

I was so worried when i read the news.I am so relief that they are ok but still i feel so sad and very curious and hoping that there is some survivor w/ that ferry. Now we will try to conduct a Philippines party to collect money so we can help also a little bit in province of Ilo-ilo.I hope that we can collect a lot.We sell tickets and asking everybody to come to the party to get more collections. The more collection we can collect the more people we can help.

I've been really busy for the past few days, and haven't seen the news at all. This discussion appearing in my inbox was the first I'd heard of this disaster. My thoughts are with all those affected.

The article mentioned Manila. The pictures looked awful, all that water flooding everything.

thanks for the best response :D i have an update: there are tons of poisonous endosulfan (a type of chemical for insecticides) inside the Princess of the Stars... now how the heck will Sulpicio Lines explain all the sh!t they got themselves into??? It's another case of BAD JUDGMENT!!!

the fishermen who live nearby the site where the boat sank gave reports that they still see small fish near the boat, ergo, the endosulfan has not leaked into the water yet... a lot of people including the experts are still trying to figure out how to take the barrels of insecticide from the ship without harming themselves and the environment. retrieval of bodies will not be the priority at the moment but the retrieval of the enodsulfan! del monte philippines inc. owns the shipment of insecticides but they thought that the endosulfan was placed in a cargo ship...they were the ones who informed the authorities that sulpicio lines carried the toxic substance in a passenger ship... technically, it's sulpicio's fault...
