What is it? What is this great diet secret. Reveal it so that we could all share the secret here for the benefit of mylot citizen. I am sick of all those specially formulated powdered concoction that I pay an arm and leg for which promises that my body will be like that of JLO and others if I faithfully consume this yarky stuff. For all I know they are now laughing their way to the bank after scheming my hard earned money here in my lot.

I am on a diet right now. It is a pretty good diet and I am seeing results already and I am only on day 4. It is a strict diet but you will lose weight. Once you are at your target weight you can eat regularly BUT still in moderation. The key to this diet is eating what you are surposted to when you should eat it. Breakfast: 1 packet of plain - original oatmeal 6 ounces of fruit 4 ounces of protein (2eggs) Lunch: 8 ounces of salad - just the lettuce 6 ounces of vegitables 4 ounces of protein Dinner: 10 ounces of salad - again just the lettuce 6 ounces of vegitables 4 ounces of protein If you chose fish as your protein you can have 6 ounces instead of 4. Tuna is fine WITH OUT mayo. NO SUGAR OR FLOUR! If you read the first 5 ingrediants in what ever you want - if you see sugar or flour you can't eat it! If it is say the 6th ingrediant fine but only 1 serving size. Once you get the sugars out of your system your body will start the fat burning stage and only burn fat. Good luck!

I'm sorry I forgot to tell you what dressing. You can have extra virgin oilve oil and white or red vinigar. Or you can have 1 teaspoon of dressing - but that doesnt' cover your salad in the least bit. It is a hard diet but gives excellent results. If you follow it exactly for the first 3 days you are okay to alter a little bit. I can't eat all 8 or 10 ounces of salad. I bought the bag salads and eat half for lunch and the other half for dinner. Last night I really didn't want salad so I made a bag of spinich and ate that. The spinich was another bag salad it just has spinich in it - I steamed it in a pan put some garlic powder and oil vinigar in it. It was a good change.

I think your plan is quite simple and straight forward. But day one should be a torture as suddenly the body is deprived of the normal food consumed. It takes a strong will to stick to a menu like this.

Honestly, the secret is that there is no secret. I have tried all the magic potions, pills, patches, fads..and can up with empty promises.I have been on the South Beach diet for a few weeks now. I actually ended up doing this as a last resort because I know it would be hard work. I wanted something that was easy, worked fast and gave me the results I wanted. That combination does not exist. Now I am training my brain and changing my way of life. I am not shedding 10lb a week, but I feel better and I have had some weight loss. Slow and steady wins the race! www.southbeach-diet-plan.com (if you are interested)

I think eating a decent sized breakfast helps a lot. Then just eat smaller portions for lunch and dinner. I haven't done this yet, so I can't say whether or not it worked. I sleep a lot and I have lost over ten pounds that way. I sleep for more than nine hours each day.

This is news to me that sleeping could aid in slimming. Probably you avoid a lot of food while asleep, so food doesn't pile up in the body. It make sense.

Seven years ago I lost 25lbs. on a low carb, high protein diet and kept it off until recently when I went back on a sugar kick (sweet tea). If the other suggestions you have received don't work for you investigate the low carb lifestyle. What I liked the most about it was that you are required to carb up periodically (I did once a week) so you have the option of eating some things you have been denying yourself without the guilt. At first I age bad carbs but later on I chose more healthy ones since I knew that I could always eat junk food the following week if I wanted to. Along with diet you really have to exercise. Even if you're only walking, you're burning calories but weight training will not only burn calories it will tone and shape your body.

So sugar must be the culprit? I have to train my tastebud to go on sugarless. I have tried walking 30 mins everyday for a week but eventually gave up cos I did not see any result at all. Probably one week is too short a time to see any changes. I think I have to start again.

I think the key is to stop looking for a miracle powder. You know which foods are healthy and which ones aren't. Only eat the healthy foods. Make sure you get at least an hour of exercise everyday. If you can't lose weight doing those two things then you need to talk to your doctor because there is probably some sort of imbalance keeping you from losing weight. The pills aren't a long term solution because when you stop the weight will come back if you ever lost it to begin with. Change your life to be healthier and eventually the weight loss will come.

I call this the no side diet! patent pending. You eat no sides for 45 days! You only eat the main course of meals and leave out the sides. Then you drink a lot of water. 1.5 gallons per day! You overload on berries, oranges, grapes. You walk for 30 minutes everyday for 45 days. You watch the fat melt off and your waistline shrink! That is only the gist of the diet, of course.

yes water is believed to aid in slimming but how to load the body with that much of water? The whole body will bloat.
