What are you cooking your family for dinner? Do you try to make it healthy?

Porcupine Meatballs - So tasty and healthy at the same time, these are a family favourite and is eaten with gusto by anyone who sits at my table on meatball night! Shhh don't tell the kids that they are full of vegetables!

We are having porcupine meatballs in tomato soup on mashed potato with broccoli and snow peas. I love this dinner because it is warm and nourishing on a cold winters night and the kids love it. I 'hide' extra vegetables in the meatballs by mixing grated carrots and zuchinni in them and it makes the meat so tender and juicy. I also make my own minced beef so it is really fat-free. I love to cook from scratch and cook healthy meals for my family. I will sprinkle some cheese on the childrens dinners as well so that this meal will really be a bit of every food group. The best thing is that they eat it like crazy!

You sound like a great cook. This is what I made for dinner Pork chops with white rice and beans. I run out of veggies. I try my best in cooking, you could say I do things semi home made, but I cook my beans in a slow cooker as I just leave them there and forget about them, I love pot roast in the slow cookers too.

I really enjoy cooking and like you I do try my best with cooking. It sounds like your family will have a tasty dinner tonight too. What sort of beans are you cooking? I love my slow cooker too - I tend to prepare it all in the slow cooker pot and leave to marinate over night and then start cooking it on low in the morning and by dinner time it is all ready to serve up - its too easy!

It is 10:13 p.m so we got dinner :) I should have said that before. I had navy beans :) I love red beans too with white rice. I would love to cook something like your dinner, it sounds great to me and also like the way you will add veggies and cheese. Calcium is important.

Oooh I haven't really had many beans, I mean I have had green beans and baked beans, but do they even count as beans! I have never heard of navy beans, I am thinking their name has to do with their colour? My children loved their dinner and there was nothing left on their plates. They also helped me mix the meatballs and we had a great time. I love it when my kids enjoy time with me. I think I will have to go for a search for yummy beans I am thinking they would make for a healthy economic meal too.

That looks delicious! I can't wait to get my new stove in, so that I can do more homecooked meals. As is, I'm limited to microwave cooking and some single eye burner dishes. Not the same as my old stove! I loved that thing. Sad to see it go!

I think we would all starve if I had to cook out of the microwave only here! I only know how to warm things up in there! I wish you much luck with your microwave cooking I bet you are devising some yummy new recipes. Ah they say that you don't appreciate something until it is gone - I guess this might be the case with your stove! I hope you get a bigger better stove in the future. Happy cooking everyone!

Last night i didn't really have alot to eat. The parents were having something i didnt want, so i had some pasta with chicken and muchrooms and added some more vegetables to it. I was yummy, my younger sister was stealing my pasta and was running off it was quite funny. My family had peppered steak and salad. I try and help out where i can in the kitchen, when i cook i try and do it all homemade as it tastes so much better.
