Our little community attracts seasonal tourists from late April to late October with the peak season running through June, July and August. I know they are vital to the economy here but I just want to scream "go home." Flatlanders flock to the mountains in droves and refuse to use the beautiful scenic overlooks our tax dollars have prepared and maintain for them. They prefer to drive 5 miles an hour down the road with a video camera hanging out the window as if they have never seen a tree or hill before and could care less about the train of cars piling up behind them. Most of the cars are locals who will now be late for work due to the inconsideration of the tourists. I just want to tell them "hey people, this two lane road is my freaking Interstate Hwy and you are not doing the minimum speed." I got stuck behind one yesterday and my 8 mile drive into town took 45 minutes as there are no passing zones on the 2 lane road because of all the winding turns. Do you face tourism in your area and does it have a negative effect on your life?

I grew up in a quaint little town on Lake Ontario. The kind of town that rolls up the sidewalks at 9 PM...lol. Being on the lake we always got tons of boaters in the warm months. We got fishermen from March to October. They used to drive me nuts...lol. They would go into town and get all boozed up and then walk back to the boats. My house was on the way. They would be hooting and hollering after the bars closed between 2 AM and 4 AM. I used to get so mad. It would be a school night and the constant flow of them back to their boats would keep me up all night. Maybe that is why I am such a night owl...lol.

I do on a major scale as I live in a tourist hotspot Edinburgh Scotland. They do drive me crazy especially if I'm working, as you can add at least a half hour or more to your journey time. I even had to change bus routes to a longer but quicker route during tourist season. You can't get to the shops in the centre either and I usually avoid it for the duration or go very early in the day.
