I Had Been To Jail

I brother-in-law had been jailed for 3 days now. He is charged with frustrated homicide but the case is still pending with the police officials as he they are still waiting for the papers to be completed. Anyways, my wife and I had a little talk about him. And I remember my mother, when she was still in the hospital. What I want to hear from you is this. If anyone in your family got jailed or confined in a hospital, which one would you feel is harder to handle? Would you feel more problematic visiting a relative in a hospital or in a jail? Share you feelings...

I think I would go for the person who got hospitalized than the one who got jailed. Being jailed some times has a reasons and some times being accused only, well what ever happen he/she can get out of the jail if she/he did not commit any crime. Being hospitalized is very serious thing we need to priority because were talking about people lives, we have to take care of the person because he/she is sick. When you are inside the jail, you are safe (well,it depends on the country I guess).

yes my friend, it depends on the jail itself, how safe it is for the detainees. thanks...

This is hard to answer, because personally I don't want anyone to be confined in the hospital or be jailed, especially my love ones. I would pray too hard to keep everyone away from both hospital and jail. But I think it’s harder to handle the situation wherein someone is jailed than when someone is in the hospital.

i guess i feel more anxious and worried visiting in the hospital specially if one of the member of the family(God forbids)is confined...rather than visiting in jail..

Whew best, what a topic. For me, having a loved one jailed and confined in a hospital were both very hard to handle. I can't take to see them in that situations. I had experienced seeing my mom confined in a hospital, and until her last breath, I was beside her. I saw her gasping for breath, in pain, and die infront of me. It was really traumatic for me, it took me months to recover. I don't want to experience that same situation again. It was really hard. Too glad, I don't have relative being jailed.

we almost had the same experience with our moms in hospital. the only difference is that, she let me leave her in the hospital for awhile before she finally left. maybe she just didn't want me to see her dieing. whew, whew and whew...

I think it's harder to visit a jail. My boyfriend was in jail for 2 months for theft and I went there once just to drop off money and it gave me an emotion overload. It was the hardest thing to know that he was there but I couldn't see him. And if I had seen him it would have been just as hard knowing I couldn't hug, kiss, or hold him.

for me it would bemuch harder to vist a close relative in jail than in in a hospital as I am used to hospitals having 'worked in them all my life. but seeing a close relative being' accused of homicide that is much much harder to take.It would be much harder to handle as you can get well and gohome from a hospital but prison and homicide thats a whole different ball game six times more serious and heart breaking too.

It is very complicated situation and I think if that happens on my part I would literally freak out. I never wanted any of the members of my family to be confined in the hospital or lock in jail. Both situation are problematic and are hard to handle but only for a while, sooner or later you'll find out more solution and lessen the burden that you have now. God bless you...
