The govt is crying foul over the rising crude oil prices and blaming it for rising inflation. But every time the planners meet to discuss oil crisis i feel that something concrete would come up but i have failed to see anything except the blamework. I feel that there is a dire need to develop alternatives for fuel as well as power. We here in india have such resources water, sunlight and wind sources in ample but i fail to realize why on major efforts are being made on these fronts. Why is that the govt does not plan for the future and believes in only short term remedies. We have ample supply of natural gas. Why not use this clean gas for as an alternative fuel by laying piplines across cities. Why we dont go in for crop planning and then suddenly find ourselves facing crisis on essential commodities. IS the govt serious or is it an eyewash?

Regarding the inflation, we as a public, (like you and me) can watch how it moves from 6 to 12.. but we cannot do anything to get it reduced.. because our participation in this is very very nominal.. ever it cannot be measured in quantity.. but this inflation raises due to the Governments some of the policies. and the politicians activities.. Correptions.. etc..
People can ask, how these factors will affect the inflations.. if you really workout the reasons for the inflations hike, the above said factors are playing the major role in the backwords of everything.
I cannot put more data, and words over here to establish about this topic..
Thanks for the discussion.. Now the people are looking for the Alternate not only for the Fuel (Petrol and diesel), but also for the food items, like Rice and other things, because these items has been price hiked by more than 50% in the past 1 month.

I think that one of the reasons why the goernment is not erious about fixing the problem is that in the long run they will make more money off of it. The goernment really doesn't want to ix a problem that will continue to make them richer.

Good Post! Limcy, you see Government can make plans, it can make laws, it can grant funds to do research, but it is the people of this country, who need to come forward to carry forward the initiative taken by the Government. We cannot blame our Government for everything. People in the Government do think about the welfare of their countrymen, yet sometimes despite their serious efforts, some of the plans do not materialise or take practical shape. Our country's population is increasing day by day, however, we have limited natural resources. So people should always be made aware how to use resources so as not to make it scarce. People are equally responsible for rising inflation, even if you blam our Government.
