Free - No Pennies Required?

No Pennies Required? - How free is free? Does free mean, "No pennies required?" That is the question of this image - just exactly how "free" is free?

I see promises for all sorts of free things all over the internet. One of the earliest internet freebies that I encountered years ago was the Jelly Belly website's free package of jelly beans... if you happened to log on at the right "mystery" time of day (and they had not already given away their daily quota...). I recently started a blog (see my profile) called "Free Things For Your Email". It's a growing gathering of links to things that I have found on the internet, where someone promises to give you some sort of freebie in exchange for your email address. This list is a work in progress, as new things can be found and added every day. (I have also enabled the comments feature, so that people can leave their comments about the different offers that are available and their views about the value of these products.) What does this have to do with the interest thread: Make Extra Money? Giving away free things online is a great way for people to make extra money. How? Well, these freebie-givers introduce you to what they have to offer by giving you a free sample. They hope to deliver enough value in that free sample to whet your appetite for the paid product. (After getting that small sampler pack of jelly beans in the mail, who doesn't want to go out and get a whole package?)
