Are you willing to pay extra for "organic"?

I heard on the news this morning that a few months ago over 50% of American people said they would pay extra for a product that was labeled to be "organic". Now that prices have went up, that number has decreased to just over 20%.
Are you willing to pay more for organic products? What do you interpret the label "organic" to mean? Do you think those products are actually healthier/better?

I would buy organic if I could really afford it, but as things are going up in price in such a big way at the moment I usually go for the cheapest in most things, but I do think organic is better, we all do consume a lot of chemicals in most of the food we eat...
