Summer Weekends vs Winter Weekends

We just spent almost the whole weekend outside. We took a nice leisurely walk on Friday. I woke up (later than I was supposed to) and went jogging with my husband, then we took the kids to Sesame Place on Saturday. It was the perfect weather too. They have regular rides and water rides. The park is designed around the characters of Sesame Street. I wasn't expecting to have as much fun as we did. We took our 9 year old son, 7 year old daughter and 2 year old daughter. There was stuff for everyone to do. We all had a great time. Sunday we hung out by my friend's pool most of the day. In the winter I spend a lot more time on the computer. We sit home and watch movies; walk around the mall, go to the movies rarely... I don't like cold weather at all so we tend to spend all of our time indoors. How does your winter routine differ from your summer routine? Do you hide in the air conditioning in the summer and go snowboarding in the winter? Or, are you like me and hide in the heat of your home during the winter and go outside to play when the weather warms up?

I love the sun, and it was nice and sunny all weekend. My daughter and I went boating and fishing with one of our friends, on Saturday. It was one of the best days we hav had yet. It was arm and sunny and we got sun burned a little. We caught some fish but we let them go. We were just fishing for fun and didn't want to eat any of them, since they were pikes and fishy tasting. We stayed on the boat for about 6 hours and it was a lot of fun. I hope we will go again.

Ooh, aren't Pikes the ones with all the big teeth? I love to go boating. I always get burned. I have fair skin and I forget the sunblock all too often! It sounds like you had a great weekend with your daughter!

Yeah, they have teeth and they are good fighting fish when catching them, but we never eat them because they taste too fishy. I burn too, so I wear a lot of sun block. I still got a little bit of a burn but not much. Just enough to give me some coloring in my face.

Fort Necessity - The entrance to Fort Necessity
I love summer weekends. The warmth makes it possible to do things outside more. My boyfriend and I spend time hiking at a local state park and going to a local attraction: Jumonville. We've gone to different places like Fort Necessity and a bunch of other stuff like baseball games or just walking in the park or along a bike trail. It's just so nice.

It sounds like you both have a lot of fun in the summer. We want to get bikes this year too. Our daughter is old enough now that she can sit in a bike seat or in one of those trailers. Last year she wasn't quite old enough. I love taking walks too!
