My girlfriend bought all the needed ingredients for making a Tiramisu cake for my parents. It was her first treat ever made for them, but she had made it many times before for me, and it always turned out perfect with out any flaw. Today unfortunately was different - the whip cream got strayed (as in it did not mix - we suspect the hot weather to be responsible) and she was really dissapointed this being her first cooking experience for my parents. I hugged her and cheer-ed her up, and my mum also encouraged her, and we still made it although it doesn't look that good - so i guess tomorrow will know if it is any good at all. How do you react when your cooking gets ruined ?

nice title for a food discussion, i got a big question mark on my head why you put v there. lol. in my experience it is only just two things. if i make something for the first time it might be perfect and when i repeat it it is no longer cool or it is not cool at the first atempt and looks cool and taste cool with the second atempt. just like that. its either i ruin it at first or ruin it on the second. lol. well practise makes perfect. the more i make it the more i came cloese to perfection. cheers

It was a mistake. I copied the title to the end of the text and when i pasted it back it only spelled V (i used ctrl+ v which is the paste option but instead of working it didn't) and i had already pressed post when i saw the mistake and since mylot does not have the edit function for the posted topics, there was nothing i could do. Ontopic: thanks for sharing, i know practice makes perfect, i think the weather was to blame since it was much to hot

It is very dissapointing that it happened on the day she was giving a treat to your parents. But such things happens, important thing is she tried hard :) Anyways, as for me, i always know my cooking is goin to get ruined, so after im done making a dish, i have this big weird grin on my face as if asking one of my friends to come forwar and taste it.

Hi elitess. It happened with me once. I feel so bad because every time all comes good and when we want that it comes better it comes wrong. But I think that the same thing happen with all the people that cook lol. At least once it happen. Tell to your girlfriend don't worry about this because she will make better the next time.

I have already told her that. My mum even gave us an example - while me and my brother were younger, and she was baking our birthday cake, the guests were knocking on the door, and the cake failed in the last moment - and she had been cooking for more than 10 years back then, so that cheered up my girlfriend quite nicely.
