Do you think that we will ever get a plug in hybrid car that really works and that we will get out of having to depend on the middle east for fuel?

I am not sure why we would need a plug in hybrid car Betty. Surely it is cleaner to allow the battery to recharge by utilising the kinetic energy created by freewheeling and braking than adding to the pollution costs of generating additional electricity. I have a hybrid car and love it but I wouldn't like to clam that it is "clean", just more efficient in many ways. As for oil. We have to accept that we have raped the Earth for this precious commodity and now she is saying that there is no more. As I understand it, the problem is not so much dwindling supplies, but that it is in increasingly difficult to reach places. This makes the oil companies more reluctant to pay for the costs of extraction. We are coming to the end of the good times created by cheap oil worldwide. Our children and grandchildren will look back at us and wonder how we can have been so profligate.
