I have a few questions about FHA

i was looking into buying a house in tennessee and moving from south carolina(where i am right now) and i really want to move and i have enough money for the first few months rent and utilities...but i have heard about a program called the fha or something like that that will help me with the down payment because most places that i have found have a huge down payment...and as far as getting a bank loan i haven't had a steady job history for the past few years(i have worked but not steady for the past two years)and i was looking for a place to rent to own and i am having a problem finding one in tennessee because most places want a really huge down payment...so i was just wondering if anyone knew anything about the fha...i have heard that they help you by giving you a amount of money to get you started or something like that...does anyone know anything about it?
