Do you guys have dandruff, if u do, what are you using to get rid of dandruff. I didn't have this problem when I was in India. After coming here to US, this problem started to me and my father in law being a homoeopath, told me that its because of dry weather we have in california. I am taking some homoeopathy medicines for dandruff and i am trying Selsun Dandruff shampoo too

I used to use Head and Shoulders, but after awhile it stopped working. I switched to Selson Blue and it seems to be working for right now. I get more of a dry itchy scalp that actual dandruff flakes. I think that you have to switch from time to time because your scalp gets used to the medicine and it is not effective long term.

If the Selsun doesn't work after a couple of weeks, see about going to a dermatologist. A dermatologist will be able to prescribe a special shampoo or evaluate other possible causes. Dandruff usually isn't because of a dry scalp -- it's actually usually because of a yeast infection of the scalp feeding on the excess oils your body is producing. You might be producing extra oil because of the dry weather, however. Washing your hair more regularly (don't know how often you wash it now) might also help. I've had pretty good luck with using white vinegar, actually. I wash my hair once a day and rinse my scalp with white vinegar before getting out of the shower. It takes about half an hour for the pickle smell to dissipate, but I've got very, very thick, long hair. Good luck! It can be a maddening condition.
