Do you get excited about tax time, or do you dread it?

I am waiting eagerly for the end of financial year on June 30th. I have even rang my employer, Education Quennsland to find out when they are sending my group certificate. I am relying so much on this money coming through as bills are piled up over my head. I have rego, electricity, phone and licence renewal, all in one month. Ahhhhh, thank goodness it is tax time. Last year I got a good chunk back, it came in handy. This year I am hoping for the same, since I only worked 6 months of the year as I had my baby in March. I should get good amount back. Also expecting 30% childcare rebate too.
When I get the money it is going to clear my bills and the rest is going on my hefty credit card debt. So how about you do you look forward to tax time? Do you spend your money on a holiday, debts or savings?1 person likes this

I do not like to welcome tax time, we are required to file tax returns and that is a cumbersome process. We do not expect such kind of returns or rebates as you might be getting in your country. Hope your rebates will help you clear your debts.

P.S. - I sent you a e-mail, did you see that?

That is a shame that you don't get rebates. I always pay an accountant to do my taxes as I want to get as much money back as I possibly can,
I have not checked my emails in a while. I will check it soon, been busy lately have not even been on here much. Will write back to you soon.

We are one of the lucky ones lol. Is your tax time at the end of June too or is it at a different date in Canada?

We usually get a refund, so I don't dread getting that money back! But it's a pain in the neck filling out all of the forms and everything else. I am still waiting for my refund from our state because even though we sent it all in they claim they never recieved it, so now I am going through all these hoops just to try and get our money!

That would be frustrating having to go through all the tax documents again. I always go to an accountant at tax time, it may cost around $80 but they always now all the good things to claim for and I don't want to miss out on any extra money. Hope you get your tax refund back soon,
