Our dependency on petrol, gasoline and other hydrocrabons only keeps increasing. There has been a lot of awareness and noise made about this. As much as people bring about awareness of alternate enegy sources like solar energy and so non, there has been very little that has been done to find an alternate for the fuel that we utilise on a daily basis whether it be gasoline or cooking gas. Just how long is this dependecy going to go on? Till we run out of it ? Till the prices of them skyrocket to such an extent that everything linked to them also become un affordable to us. If you know about some breakthroughs that will bring about a change in our lives share it here

Alok This is so alarming! The way we are after luxury, one car per head, 3-4 mobiles per head and stuffs like that our damnation is nearing. Instead of accommodating a single car per family we are divulging to more! But do we realise at all that our future generation will going to suffer like hell! How can we be so selfish! Sorry I ranted out. But I truly feel its a full circle and we will go back to the same era as our predecessors were - no gadgets, no fuels, no electricity, no comfort. Having said this, I think, solar ovens, green cars, environmental friendly gadgets...these would take over in future. Very sad indeed!

Firstly please don't apologise for ranting out. It's what we are supposed to be doing here. It is our self centredness which has brought us to this state. The full circle part is what is the alarming bit. Our over dependence on one form of fuel is what is the cause of concern. As much as we may come across various other options, we will invariably be able to solve this if we come across an easily available, cheap alternate. I maybe dreaming here but something like using and recycling the air or water around us.

I agree completely. cant we not switch off the unnecessary swtiches. Cant we stop wasting water, food, fuel, cant we be more pro active towards conservation? I guess we can. We just ave to feel the crisis that's going to beget us soon.

Just Last Friday,I saw the news about making vegetable oil as an alternative fuel. That really caught my attention! But as he demonstrates the procedure, I felt amazed about his ingenuity and total concern for the environment.
