When do you wash your fruits or vegetables?

I think the best way to care for veggies is to wash them right before you use them. Prevents things getting moldy from sitting in the fridge like they do if they are washed before storage so i think its good to wash them as we start using them.

I had not thought to wash my fruits and veggies before storing them in the refrigerator. I will try that next time. We're coming up to a grocery shopping day so there will be plenty of fruits and veggies in the house. I will rinse them before storage next time. Thanks for the tip.

Well that would help if you are real quick at using the stuff. If you store the vegetables after washing for longer time they will get mouldy or rot. If you keep them longer its better to wash them just before using them. Have a good day.

hi parthajena, well i think that they should be washed in two stages one before their storage in the fridge and they again before using them...first one because we keep our other food stuff too. and then before using them. and more importantly we have to wash them doubly if they are to be used for the salads... because here we eat them raw. anyways have a good day.

Well we keep other foodstuffs in the fridge too. But theres a different space for keeping raw vegetables and fruits. It keeps them away from the other food stuffs. Washing the vegetables before storing makes them mouldy. Thanks for responding. Have a good day.

I wash most of the vegetables just before cooking them and fruits before eating them. I wash grapes when I brought them home from the market and wash them again before using them.

thats a very good thing you taught your mother in law. vegetables and fruits should be better washed before cutting. if they are washed again after cutting the water should be reused. thanks for the response.

Well, thats a very good habit.Washing vegetables is a good habit. But washing them before storing makes them prone to damage. And washing them after cutting makes them loose nutrients.Keep it going.Have a good day.

It is always advisable to wash your fruits and vegetables before using because of the storages that they have been through. Sometimes the various handlers has not be too careful so this is a worldwide advise. With the fruits especially the ones you are eating at the same time if you have warm water it is best to use it to wash it. Yes I was the before using or eating.

it is always better to wash them before you consume or cook.it removes any harmful chemicals or germs from its surface.its a healthier practice to inculcate.
