Wow..I think baby teeth though have shorter roots so it is not as painful as the adult teeth..:)+

I agree with you..the numbing and the pulling really is not too bad..the anticipation is and then when the novacaine wears off..then you feel it..seems like you relive all procedure over again only this time you feel it;+

A lot of times, and a few of those times the dentist did not put me out long enough.

sorry to hear that the novacaine wore off or the sleeping gas..I think they should do a few tests before doing the major stuff;)+

It was in my 6th grade... when i went to this lady dentist and she told me that i needed to get my teeth pulled... and she gave an injection to numb the pain.. but the injection didnt have any effect and she tried to pull the tooth out and I could feel everything even the root.. she tugged at it for like 3-4 min before it came out and I was in pure agony...

Owwww.. that's awful.why didn't you tell her the novacaine wasnt working..I probably, despite me being shy and all, would have bitten her hand and then she would have known that I was in paing..Youch!+

Yaa been to dentist many times. For doing route canal therapy the dentist had almost called me for four sittings. This was about 0years back. I used toloose my cool for he was calling me and making me sit for 1 hour everday inthe chair.

I understand that ..sitting long periods of time anywhere can be unnerving ..but in a dentist chair ..not that can be terrifying..
I don't like root canals..and if asked if I would like one .I would definitely say "no" never again will I have it done;+

I had a tooth pulled a few years ago, it wasn't pleasant, but it wasn't all that bad. In high school, the day before Thanksgiving, I had all four of my wisdom teeth surgically cut out, now that was horrible. It was painful, I couldn't eat solids, a very miserable experience. Plus, it was Thanksgiving, and I missed out on all the great food except for mashed potatoes.

Unfortunately, I inherited bad teeth. Also, not being able to have milk while I was growing contributed to my bad teeth also. I had to have all of my top ones pulled ~ wasn't to bad though the dentist was wonderful.

I have had 4 pulled. By the way if any of you are taking fosamax you should check with your dentist. Mine told me that it can prevent healing. He said that the hole left by the tooth extraction might not heal and could get bigger. Luckly I had only been taking it for about 6 mo.

Some teeth are fine..but then there are others that are just stubborn and take lots of pulling to get them out..It's those type of teeth that cause swelling when being pulled;)+

I had my wisdoms pulled out when I was 17 and the dentist was super!! My wisdoms never came out and were growing sideways instead of upwards; so you can imagine the pain and then the difficulty of the dentist's job..He did very well and I didn't feel a thing. Kuddos to all the dentist's in the world;)+

Fortunately, I've never had a tooth pulled. I've only ever gotten a few fillings.

I use to think getting fillings was quite a challenge until I had my wisdoms out and then getting a filling was like, almost nothing;+

Yes..I understand too much of a good thing no longer is enjoyable..I hope for you then the dentist becomes more a stranger..and less visited;)+
