Camping under the Stars

I recently moved from Colorado to the Oregon coast. With housing being so costly out here a friend of mine invited me to come and live at their place. It is on the very north end of town, very rural with deers, raccoons, birds, and your normal cats and dogs. It so nice I ask my friend if I could camp out instead of staying in the house (they have 3 acres) While camping out last night under a clear stary night a question popped in my head and that is...if you could have one item between a sleeping bag or a tent, which would you choose? Tell you the truth I have not decided yet but what do you think...love to hear your thoughts.
