Ever received spam after making a MyLot post?

I know I hear alot of members talking about getting spam from the sites you join to make extra money. Until yesterday, I had never heard of the spam being the result of a MyLot post, then it happened to me. First, let me say that I am not bald, hubby is not bald and while I do have a few members in my family that have gone bald, I have never clicked on links to research anything related to going bald. With that being said, yesterday I replied to a discussion about sugar gliders. Since I've experienced 4 of these cute critters, I felt I could answer the members post asking if all male sugar gliders had a bald spot, because I know they do. I even attached a pic of the male sugar glider we had and it showed his little bald spot. Within minutes of completing my reply, I get an email from Hair Club for Men, and see this note attached to the bottom: quote: We are contacting you as in the past you have shown interest in the Hair Club. We thank you for the time you spent consulting with us. If you would not like to be contacted by us in the future, please let us know. Click Here Needless to say, I was a little surprised. I never went to the Hair Club for Men site and definately did not consult with them. I did click on the link to remove myself from their mailing list since I don't need their services and didn't even ask for messages from them. What I'd like to know is: "How in the heck did they add me to their autoresponder?" Have you ever received spam as a result of a MyLot post?

I have to say no but I imagine it could happen. Truly, I'm not that familiar with the computer systems that do these things neither am I familiar with the net that way. I wish there was an easy way for people to get information on these things but knowledge is money and most people have to study to get this on. I am also getting bald, only very slowly and it doesn't bother me. My father was bald at thirty and my youngest brothers are both practically hairless. So I've grown old with this. I think some men are attractive when they are bald. Nowadays people shave their heads bald as a style. So what the heck ? If you're bald whats the big deal ?

I'm pretty sure it's because I entered bald in my tags for the discussion, though I didn't have it listed in my interests. My Dad started with a receeding hairline at the age of 21, so for me, I grew up thinking bald was beautiful and have no problems with it. I was just surprised to be contacted about a consult I supposedly had.

Somehow I don't think it was the member I responded to. I think it may have more to do with the tag I entered. I see you entered NetWinner as your profile link. How do you feel about the recent changes there. I really liked the site and received several payouts. I was very disappointed when they changed the rules.

I was disapointed to by the change. At least I got my giftcards some werent so lucky.I think everyone should have at least got their cards that were rightfully theirs.I dont play as much now.I was mad after I reffered people and then they change everything within the past months.I am on another site and I get giftcards by earning points and you can get a 50.00 visa giftcard in 4 and a half to weeks if you dothe max 1,500 points a day .You can read jokes, recipes, request friends play games ,etc.It is a really fun site and it is legit so they do pay with the giftcards. You can get a target giftcard or bestbuy giftcard for less points but I would rather have the visa one.You get the giftcard in 6 to 8 weeks after you request it.Its free and it doesnt take any of my gas so I am happy. :)

I've never gotten spam from MyLot before, but then again I have less than 100 posts. I've forgotten what email account I used to sign up for this, so I may be getting a lot of spam, just not on the email accounts I check any more, haha.

This is a pretty rare occasion for me. I don't think MyLot is responsible for many of my spam emails, this one was just something that happened almost instantaneously after I used bald in my discussion tags, so I had to ask if it had happened to anyone else.

OMG I dont know what to say about this. I have mixed feelings. Kinda mad and yet not surprised. I get so much spam never really paid attention to where it came from. I usually just delete my spam without looking at any of it. When it comes to the internet, we are all risking a little of our privacy. Even with virus software, spam is outrageous!
