No not the ones on the TV that I use to watch when I lived in the UK. No,NO real ones. We have just moved into a very pretty house, everyone in the tiny village in lovely, well all but one. He lives alone next door, not very close but our next neighbour. First I would greet him in the morning or whenever and he would not reply,I assumed he did not like the thought of a non french neighbour,,no problem I can live with that. The following weekend I thought we had woken up at the local Disco,,7.30 in the morning, double glazing and we are doing the Hippy Hippy Shake. His sister was in the garden around 11 that morning and we asked if the music which was still so loud we had to shout over it could be turned down, she said her brother was upset ,well I know how he felt. This carried on all day and at 4 I ask my son inlaw to have a word as he is french it may go down better. No the music went up evenlouder,,then my husband and son in law went to see him and suggested he closed his windows, put on earphones or just respected other people,,no, he did not agree to any of these suggestions and my son in law had to drag my husband out the door before he exploded. Later we asked the police to speak with him, they did, they said they thought he was ill,he was very nice to them and he agreed to turn the music down,,by the way the man says it is not music but his radio!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So 10 mins after the police left up went the volume and the man is outside my window playing a musical instrument,badly.... Then just as I decide to try and get some sleep he is standing next to our brand new Jeep Patriot,I shouted hello and he ran home saying he was not finished. Back came the police,,same story,,but the radio stopped. NOW we have the radio all night every night till around 2.30 Everyone is tired, angry and the police still insist he is a nice guy,,any suggestions, remember you must keep within the law,,it seeem that once before when someone caused him problems he put a brick through their window,,the someone being an old lady..

Personally, I would continue to call the police on him. I would imagine that they would eventually get tired of it and do something about it. Where I live that is a noise ordinance and if he refused to comply with it he could be arrested or fined. I hope things calm down for you soon, I know that it can be very irritating to have a jerk for a neighbor ! Good luck with getting peace and quiet ! ! !

Thanks for your comments As for calling the police, this is a good idea except he then causes damage to your property, car, then all you seem to do is worry alnight if he is out there. Infact he breaks the law here, you cannot broadcast without a licence,he is broadcasting by making us all listen to him. But the police insist he is mentally ill,but cannot section him,his sister however says he drinks a dreadful amount and this is the problem.

Good grief ! You are stuck between a rock and a hard place ! I would think that mental illness or not there are still laws that EVERYONE has to abide by. I wish I could help you, its just horrible that you have to tolerate that type of behavior day in and day out. Maybe, hopefully things will quieten down some soon. Good luck !
