Leaving alone Ronaldo and assuming that he would move to Real Madrid, the floodgates are open to Rooney to take the center stage. He can be the star to take the team as he has always been overshadowed by Ronaldo. And I feel Ronaldo's exit can pave the way for Rooney. Ur take??????

He can be the star to take the team as he has always been overshadowed by Ronaldo I don't think that rooney was over shadowed by ronaldo . Rooney was rather sacrificed to play the unselfish linking role which he willingly played a big part . You see , what ronaldo and rooney do are very predictable , when you watch them especially those off the ball runs . Its tevez who' opponents don't know what to do . Ronaldo is very predictable , he does what you want him to do and takes his chances and rooney could as well play in the exact same position . But for rooney to take those chances , lot of psychological factors must come his way . For one , that his goal scoring thing isn't really what it used to be . He is struck in between the typical poacher's mindset and a flamboyant striker's mindset whenever he is one on one . For that to get alright , he should have a good goal scoring run . Like in his second season , i remember games after the newcastle ones where scored a brace , he went on with a goal scoring strike till the carling cup finals . It was amazing to see him take all those chances with such elegance . But now , since Ronaldo has been there and giving out those every single time we wanted , rooney has enjoyed doing the linking up play . When rooney is going to be unleashed possibly to another free role as ronaldo or tevez , that could happen only when we buy a replacement for saha and play him along with tevez and rooney , i can see rooney scoring a lot of goals and really living upto the tag he was once famous for in everton .

Yeah you are right. And what I feel is that he has not come under limelight because Ronaldo is the one who takes all the fame. And Rooney is so selfless and he has even been asked by Quieroz to be a bit selfish in the box. If Rooney stays fit, it will be his season.
