It doesn't have to be anything huge, but what have you done to help someone, or an animal, or our sickly planet? I can think of several things I've done to help. Nothing major, but made me feel good. One day while in line to pay for a meal I noticed a frail old lady counting out pennies to pay for her meal. She was dressed in older clothes and her hands shook as she realized she didn't have enough money. Without even thinking about it I bought her meal and told her to help someone else another day. She had tears in her eyes as she thanked me. I am one of those people who feeds stray pets. I also get them fixed when I can catch them and have found homes for several as well as adopting some of my own. I also have donated food to the food bank on many occasions. And one year we "adopted a family" for Christmas and gave them all a gift and a great meal. What have you done to help?

Motherhood: A noble profession, changing the world one (cloth) diaper at a time! We recycle, raise, grow, cook our own...keep a very low carbon footprint. I do special needs advocacy as I have three children with special needs, so I help other parents who do not know the ropes, the doctors to go to, what services are available, etc. We love. Others, each other, everyone who needs it and sometimes those who don't think they do.

Wow, it sounds like you are making a great contribution to the world. :) I wish I was physically able to garden, but alas I'm not. I know I'm not doing as good at some with the carbon footprint issue, but unfortunatly my health plays a role in that here. Thanks for replying.

Wow! You really are generous. And I'm proud that we are friends. It's nice to know big hearted people. My biggest contribution to the planet was having a child. She's brilliant. I guess stuff that I've done for other people hasn't been so much. The greatest gift I can offer is my time, advice and writing. I have used my writing on MyLot and blogs to inspire others. Writing has always been my gift. People open up and talk to me when they won't talk to a family member. My spouse is the one who does good deeds in real life. Once he saw a man sleeping on a bench in front of the local Dollar General. The man must have been homeless or unemployed. My husband went to his car, got out his career jacket that he uses for job interview; really good shape; brand new! Then he went back and offered it to the man to wear, so he wouldn't be cold. The coat cost at least $60, maybe more. He didn't tell me for a year. He just did it and let it go as if he was doing his part and didn't ask for praise or appreciation. When he told me about it, he said that he had been hoping to find his winter coat in the trunk so he could give it to the man. He could only find the career jacket. He's the sweetest and most generorous man I know!

We all give in our own ways and in ways that we are able to. I wish I could write. I have a fantastic idea for a children's book, but since this type of writing here is all I've ever done, I don't have a clue how to proceed. Your husband sounds like a very kind and generous man. You are very lucky. :)

The smallest contribution I've made to this world thus far are my kids. I'm raising them to be loving, caring, honest, trusthworlthy people. Who I hope in turn will do the same when they have kids. So my difference is I'm making sure at least two people in this world are honest and sweet and will take care of this planet and their home in a resectable manner.

Raising great kids is no small contribution. You never know, one of them may save our planet some day. Thanks for replying. :)

I help people now and then. One day, while I was walking in the street,an old woman missed her way home,so I asked where she lived and sent her home.It was nothing I think. But her son and her daughter thanked me again and again and kept me back to have lunch with them.I refused and went back home.

I try to do what I can for the enviorment and the people around me. I've given to a charity since I started working. I currently give to feed the children. We just recently started a compost bucket at my house, we use the funny looking light bulbs to save energy, and we make sure we use plastic containers for storage instead of ziplock bags and plastic wrap. I have given food out of my refrigerator to my neighbors that could not afford anything and I'm always willing to help someone in need, within reason of course. I strongly believe that people can get down on their luck and need a boost every now and again, I've been there myself.

Wow, great job! Sounds like you are certainly doing your fair share. I used to do alot more, but I'm in that "down on your luck" stage right now and I'm the one with my hand out here and there for programs my low income gives me. My one and only luxury is the internet service. :)

Well when we had a post- election violence in my country as a result of presidential announcement? My country almost enteret into a civic war. I had to keep some of the affected communities in my house so that they might not be attacked. It was a add job and a risk. Later when the goverment provided security now they went to the camps so that they would get other assistance that I could meet.
