Update On My Cat Bobo 6/25/08

He is really something. A complete inspiration to us all!! He's trying so hard to walk right but isn't able to just yet which, of course, will take time. Maybe even a lot of time but he keeps on trying! We should learn from our furry friends for they have so much to teach us about perserverance and patience. He gets up and is lopsided but keeps going till he falls over. He leans towards the left so it has to be the right side of his brain that was hit by the car. He reconizes me completely now and doesn't want to let me out of his sight if it can be helped. I try to keep him with me most of the time but I can't for I have my mom take care for as well and her home and what ever else that needs doing. Bobo will try his best to follow me so I'll pick him up and set him in a chair beside me when I'm balancing my checkbook or eating a meal or what ever I'm doing so he can watch me. He just wants to be with me all the time.
During the night last night he surprised me! He had used the litter box and made a heck of a mess, lol, and got back up on the bed!! How? He used his front paws to pull himself up!! I didn't know that until I actually saw him do it! I told him he was my amazing little baby boy because he IS!! He's eating and drinking which is really good too!! I don't think it'll take him too long to get back on his feet again and boy when he does... LOOK OUT!! lol

Awwww thank you tammy!! He's calmed down quite a bit now. Yesterday we put him on the leash and hooked it up to the clothes line so he'd be able to move a wee bit more and we kept checking on him and checking on him and then lo and behold! the little stinker figured out how to wiggle out of that tight harness and went on his merry way!! We ran outside in search of him and I had his treat bag just a shaking it and calling for him and here he comes like he had not a care in this world, just a walking along towards me. lol I was so relieved!! Whew!! Talking about scared out of my mind and to see him just walking along like nothing to worry about was funny and stress relieving. He's my sweet sweet loving little mama's boy that's for sure!! Today I took him out and this time I stayed with him! LOL Can you believe that he saw Gracie climb up the ladder, which is on the left side of the slide, to the kids club house and so he wanted to go up there too and he did it!! He got up there and laid around just enjoying the scenery then it started to rain about a half hour later so we had to come in. He wasn't too happy about that but we can't stop mother nature now can we? lol

Shhhhhh don't say that!! He just might!! Yeah he's a lucky little momma's boy and I think he knows it. He's getting better even more thanks to the exercises I've helped him do. He still walks a little lopsided but he'll get right in due time.

Yes or furry friends are VERY special!! lol I have 9 cats and 3 dogs and I love each and every one of them equally. They're like the children that I never had or would've had, they'd be right up there in ranks with them.
He's doing better today... in time he'll be as good as new... I hope!

Don't worry about not responding to the other discussions for I completely understand. I can't expect everyone to answer to every discussion I make because there are so many others to respond to and not every one can respond to every discussion with something contributing. I know I can't and so I don't expect anyone else to either. So it's all good!!

He is a sweetheart, that's for sure! lol He was so clingy for the first week he was home but now he's starting to get his wits about himself. He's able to walk without falling over but he's still a little bit lopsided but I think in time he'll get back to his old self. Thanks Ms Tickle!

You've hit the nail right on it's head!! That's exactly what I'm going to do! And when he's let out again, I'm going to keep a close eye on him and if he heads out for the road again, on the leash he goes!! No more $617.55 vet bills!!

True, getting hit by a car and then being at the vets, not knowing where he is and then at my parents, not knowing that place either, poor guy!! I had no choice but to take him with me so I could care for him as well as my mom. We're both home for the night and then we'll return tomorrow night but I so needed this break!! I'm sooo dogged tired!!

Thank you abbey! He's doing a little bit better today than he was yesterday because I've been exercising his legs when he's in my lap in hopes to get his brain to reconnect to his left side. He still falls over and gets a little frustrated but he's not giving up so neither am I! lol

Aww---Bobo sounds like a real trooper and fighter and it's so sweet how he constantly wants to be around his "mom" now...It's also amazing how animals just take things in stride when they are sick or injured and don't complain...what a wonderful update on him..thanks ever for sharing

I figured "us" animal lovers would want to know... lol He's doing better today thanks to my exercising his legs in hopes to reconnect his brain to his legs. He's still leaning towards the left but he's not giving up and neither will I! lol Did I tell you what the vet bill was???? $617.55!!

I am really pleased to hear that your cat is on the road to recovery, it is bad that it happened in the first place, but at least he is getting better.

Yeah he's getting better a little each day. I'm doing some exercises for him when he's in my lap in hopes to reconnect his legs to his brain and it seems to be working. He's still quite lopsided but he's getting better and he's not giving up so neither am I!
