I dont know why but this really bothers me. Why do customers come to the self checkout and expect someone else to ring them up? Im only there to correct any problems and to make sure no one is trying to steal anything.

We used the self checkout tonight and we use it most every time we go grocery shopping. The cashier has to do the coupons though. What I tend to notice is that a lot of people want to use it but have no idea what they are doing. The lines get backed up and the cashier eventually steps in just to get them out of the way. This is just my experience though.

I have had similar expierences at Walmart and other busy stores. I work at Home Depot and the self checkout lines are not that long. It would be one thing for them to ask me how it workds and I would show them. It is the people who stare at me blankly...i dont know maybe i get annoyed too easily

I hate when people go to the self check out and have no idea what they are doing! Like when i am there it seriously takes me less then like 3 minutes to check my self out! I hate waiting for people if you really don't know how to use it then just don't or ask for help before you start holding the line up. Really it is easy my nephew is 8 and knows how to use it. I think customers who cant use it just shouldn't.

I agree,it is called the self checkout because customers are supposed to ring up themselves and only ask for help if they need it,for example if something will not scan or if they have coupons.
