Did Nancy Pelosi 'talk' herself out of a job last night???

Hello All, Did you see the interview with Nancy Pelosi on Greta Van Susteren's show last night (6/24/08)? If you missed it, you can see the whole interview (in two parts) on this link: http://www.foxnews.com/ontherecord/index.html Mdm. Pelosi implied, in no uncertain terms, that Senator Obama will make a terrific president BECAUSE of his inexperience. BECAUSE he hasn't been jaded by D.C. BECAUSE he brings fresh ideas to the table. If that is what Mdm. Pelosi really believes, then shouldn't she resign her speaker position to a freshman representative? And, shouldn't Harry Reid similarly resign his Senate Majority position to a freshman Senator??? What say you?

LadyLuna, What an absolutely convoluted answer Pelosi gave to Greta about the qualifications of Obama! She, like many other people, couldn't put her finger on one, not even ONE, qualification Obama has to be President of the United States! Instead she cmae out with some mess about how he was a fresh face and not weighed down by the politics of Washington! My take is that BECAUSE he doesn't have the knowledge and experience of the politics of Washington his decisions will be influenced by those who do and guess what? So goes change! My predictions if Obama is elected president: 1) We will be in Iraq much longer than he has stated in his speeches! Window dressing, nothing else! 2) Healthcare: One of two choices; either congress will not be able to come to an agreement on how it should be put together or administered, or, what congress and the president will come up with will totally devastate the medical industry in America and plunge us backward about 50 years! 3) Taxes: You think gas is high? Just wait for these!!

Good morning Sir Rodney, Yes, it was a terribly convoluted answer. In fact, the entire interview was most certainly an embarrassment for Mdm. Pelosi. She seemed to have difficulty focusing on Greta's questions, and repeatedly resorted to blaming Bush for all of our woes. Though, that brings me back to my original question: Based on the statements that Mdm. Pelosi did give, did she not provide the best possible reason for why Mdm. Pelosi, and Harry Reid for that matter, should resign their positions of power, and convey those important leadership roles to Junior members of the House and Senate?

LadyLuna, Glad to hear the Chiropractor did you good! I guess I got off on a rant and didn't answer your original question. Nanci Pelosi is the poster child for reasons to have term limits! Why is it that we limit our president to 8 years and allow our lawmakers to make a career of politics which only leads down the path of self-interest?

Thank you, Rodney! It's really amazing how affecting spinal manipulation can be. Surprisingly, I caught a nasty, viral bronchitis that's been been circulating. I was actually feeling pretty crummy! One trip my terrific chiro, and whammo! I feel soooooo much better! Thanks for the follow up. Your original points were really terrific! Though, I wondered how others might perceive Mdm. Pelosi's endorsement of inexperienced leaders in our government. I do support term limits. Though, I also recognize that experience counts. Especially in leadership positions! While that may seem to be an incongruous perspective, your question: "Why is it that we limit our president to 8 years and allow our lawmakers to make a career of politics which only leads down the path of self-interest?" ... Perfectly represents my perspective!!! 'They' say: "A rolling stone gathers no moss". So, what is to be said of a stone that 'digs its feet in' for 20, 30, or 40 years?

I think Pelosi said this for one simple reason: She wants Obama to win. When politicans want to support one another, they'll say dang near anything to do so. She did go a little overboard with it, but what could she say? he has experience so vote for him? That wouldnt work because its a straight lie!

You are right Pelosi has become too jaded to be the Speaker of the House. She has been there to long and is too experience for the job. Let us realize she was only talking about Obama and nothing about what she said applies to herself. There is something else I would like to point out about this, she loves to be the queen bee. Currently Pelosi is much more powerful than Sen. Reed is. Pelosi dictates Democrat policy, not Reed. Democrat men are all beta male. Democrat women are alpha women. The rules still apply. Pelosi needs Obama, so she can become more powerful. If Hillary had won, Pelosi would lose all of her power, she would have no longer be the queen bee. Pelosi can control Obama, and even make him do exactly what she wants. What is Obama going to do, use his inexperience to push his agenda, I do not think so. She will say anything the Democrats think will get Obama elected, which will create her as the first ever Prime Minister of America.

Hello Gewcew, I absolutely love your statement: "She ... is too experienced for the job." Perhaps Mdm. Pelosi never heard the saying: "What's good for the goose, is good for the gander." If a defining 'lack of experience', is now a reasonable qualification for the Office of the Presidency, then surely she should recognize that fresh ideas, and freedom from D.C. jadism would benefit the House Leadership as well. Right??? So, I wonder: When will Mdm. Pelosi be resigning?

Then who would be there to manipulate a new president? I wish I could say that yes she did talk herself out of a job, but if that was the case, she would have a couple of years ago! That woman is so annoying!

Hello Laglen, Thanks for sharing your perspective. I concur with the manipulation suggestion. I can see few (even half worthy) reasons why Mdm. Pelosi would have supported a green, pleb over a Clinton. A move that I suspect is going to come back and bite her in the tail! At this point, I have zero doubt that Sen. Obama's chief backer has really thrown around the weight of wealth and influence to get Obama to where he is today. Hmmm???

Wow! I missed that one. What a slip up. "Because of his inexperience!" Who says that kind of thing.

Hello Beautyqueen, In answer to your question: none other than the third in line to the office of the Presidency -- the Speaker of the House of Representatives. Hard to fathom, huh??? In all honesty, the interview was so very bizarre that it was actually unnerving!

Good morning ladyluna, how are you feeling today? Personally I think that many of our politians have been in office way too long and have lost any true connection with the American public, Democrat and Republican alike. Not that I'm a big Senator Obama fan, because I'm not but fresh ideas should always be welcome. This Congress promised change when they were voted in last year but little change has been seen. I would gladly trade some of the more experienced Senators and Congressmen for someone who had little experience but is dedicated to the American people. Take care.

Hello TCampbell, How nice of you to ask, thank you! The chiropractor did wonders! You make two really terrific points in your response! First, I agree that working too long on Congressional Hill will inhibit one's ability to connect with the real world. In fact, I would go so far as to suggest that 'professional politicians' are definitely an obstruction to progress. And Second, you are so right about the promises of change made to the American People, by the Democratic leadership leading up to the Nov. 2006 election. They amount to empty promises. The 'same old, same old'! And yet, that same mantra of "Change" is being promised again. "Fool me once, shame on you! Fool me twice, shame on me".
