A very old man who was in the last years of his life, had but one passion left.
And that was to do what he did every morning....get up at sunrise and go down to the old pond to do some fishing.
One morning, just as the old man had cast his line, he felt a tug on the line.
So he reeled it in, and dipped his net in the water to claim his prize.
To his surprise, it wasn't a fish in the net...it was a frog.
But this was no ordinary frog...it spoke to him.
The frog made the old man an offer. "if you let me go, I will show you where you can go and catch all the fish you want all day."
At this, the old man took the frog from the net, and shoved it deep into his coat pocket.
At this point, the frog said a little nervously, "let me go, and I will give you a beautiful mansion filled with all you want and servants to wait on you hand and foot."
The old man simply gathered his things, and began the walk to his small, but cozy home.
By now the frog was getting quite desperate..."if you release me, I'll give you gold and silver and all the riches you want!"
The old man reached his home, and climbed the steps to the porch.
The frog was in an absolute panic at this point, "let me go and I will make any woman you desire fall in love with you so you can take her as your wife!"
The old man went into his house, and took the frog from his pocket so he could have a look at it.
The frog screamed out "I've offered you wealth and love, I'll give you anything!!! anything!!! just name it!!!"
The old man looked the frog in the eyes and said, "at my age, I'd rather have a talking frog."
