I've been trading my books I don't want online through a book trading website. You ship books you get points to "buy" books. the site is called whatsonmybookshelf Today I was reading woman's world magazine and they referred to a site for parents to trade/sell gently used toys and such their kids have grown out of for points and "buy" others from other people. Same principle as the book trading. If anyones interested the site is called Zwaggle I wont put the links in as I don't want to void any guidelines. But I'll say either Google the sites or just add dot com to the end of the names.

one of my friends told me about a site where she got some french books (we are in canada) and she traded her books in for them. she said all she had to pay was the postage (which can at times be kind of expensive too) but i will have to check these out. thanks!

this one you pay your postage to mail the books you are sharing - you can say no you arent mailing out of country off continent etc. I've picked up about 8 books from australia and england.

Well that is such a novel idea! What a great way to reduce, reduse, and recycle! Great way for parents to get 'new' toys for their children at a fraction of the cost! This idea seems closely related to the concept of garage sales and yard sales without having to drive around, get lost and spend over four dollars a gallon on gas! I will certainly let my daughter-n-law know about zwaggle and will tell all my friends about whatsonmybookshelf. Thanks so much for such an informative and useful post! I have given your topic a great big '+' rating!

Thank yo very much and your welcome. I really have enjoyed the whatsonmybookself - I like that its for anyone anywhere not just addresses based in the USA. I was checking out zwaggle a bit ago and there seems to be a lot of selection there.
