I am beyond annoyed, I am pissed. I posted a discussion about making an afghan for our new grandbaby which should arrive the end of Oct. or first of Nov. I am proud and excited. I only listed 4 tags on the discussion, knowing a 5th could be added by someone else if they chose to do so. A member decided to list another tag which is titled, "adult content." I am anything but a prude. I can post smut on here and filthy jokes but that's not what myLot is about, in my opinion. I am really turned off with this situation and only because the discussion is about one of our kids and it is not mature content. Why would anyone decide to attach adult content to this disucssion and send me to a place I really don't want to see or be? I am sorry to vent here but want everyone to know what can happen if all 5 tags aren't listed by the member writing the discussion. What's your opinion?

Hey Carolbee! Calm down, it was completely innocent and the blame goes to mylot's automatic "mature content system". In that discussion you mentioned that you began the afghan before knowing the "s3x" of the baby...that little word, when written correctly, automatically triggers the mature content tag. It wasn't another user being mean or anything. Sometimes very innocent things get tagged just because of the multiple meaning of words. A discussion about Mr. Cheney or having chicken bre@sts for dinner will also get the mature content tag automatically.

Hi my friend, I have herd about this happening before and some say it is best to type in 5 or 6 different (the max allowed) tags so no one else can have a opportunity to put one in. I can't understand how anyone can see a connection between an "afghan" and adult content.

It's sad indeed that someone has such a hard stone for a heart to do crap like this. I'm wondering if that's why one of my friend's 2 discussions got deleted.

I don't blame you for being so upset and mad. I also would be. I don't check tags on the few discussions I have started but it might not hurt to do so. I had no idea about the 5 tags so from now on I will do that. I guess there is no way you can remove that tag?

hi carolbee I have had that happen to me too so I just
sent mylot a message about it and they took the tag that
offended me off my discussion. someone had had it in for me
for some reason and put this tag whining old hag so I let
mylot know I did not appreciate someone adding that tag onto
my discussion.so just let them know the tag was inappropriate
for your discussion.

If I don't hear back from myLot I will again contact them. Wish they had a phone number. I don't have a problem calling them. I'm not real sure who put the tag on my discussions since it happened a second time also. Same tag was placed on 2 discussions. Oh I was mad yesterday but today realize it's not worth it. Thanks so much for responding.

Hi Carolbee. I understand your frustration. However, "adult content" isn't always what you may think it is. I had my account flagged to not view discussions with adult content because I was really concerned with what would be popping up in some of them. But when I changed it I realized that it wasn't bad and I've turned it off permanently. I tell myself that if the title of the topic is a little questionable and the preview of the discussion (the first 3 lines) then I don't go in there.

that is horrible!! How rude of this person. Your discusssion was sweet and about a soon to be arriving member of your family and the precious gift you are preparing for her. Some people got nerve thats for sure.

The same tag is placed on this discussion. Someone mentioned it earlier. Either the member is having a fun time or myLot is making this discussion "mature content" for the second time. I contacted myLot but they haven't responded yet. Thanks so much for responding.

It happened again to another discussion. Same tag to the same other member. I do have the member's name so if it continues I will email myLot with the name. I'm not a prude but the discussion I am talking about was about one of our kids. Thanks for responding.

these people that do that do it to bother you and what better place to really get to you than when talking about a child? some fool with nothing better to do that apparently just randomly attacks innocent people here to get a rise out of them. He/she is probably reading this discussion and loving it for whatever reason. I really can't imagine the thrill in it but then again, I don't really want to get into their heads enough to understand such mindless entertainment.

Exactly right, mindless entertainment is a great description. If myLot placed the tag on the discussion I am referring to, they placed the exact same tag to another recent discussion. I'll block out the mature content so this won't happen again. Thanks so much for responding.

Thanks so much for being so understanding and concerned. It happened to another discussion after the one I am referring to in this discussion. I do have the member's and this person is not on my friend list. Happens once more, and myLot will know who did this if myLot did not place the tag on the discussion. Seems odd it would happen twice in the same day to 2 of my different discussions. Thanks so much for responding.

I would be annoyed too if I were you.Some people just dont use the brains that God gave them.I am sorry that this happened to upset you.I hope this problem gets resolved because I noticed another discussion someone posted that was having this same problem.

I can solve it by not posting discussions for awhile unless myLot wants to check it out! Then it will be out of my hands. Yeah I am irritated but will get over it. Maybe the word afghan means something nasty? lol Thanks so much for responding.

maybe you mention a world that is one of the mature content. i am annoyed also before because i am said that my comment has a mature content, as what i've knew mature content is only for ages below 18 but i am 31, how come i am belong to the restricted age that i am 31 already. i post a discussion about this and many users advice me to check my profile and update it to allow mature content. this site is very tough specially on our words.

I can understand you being pissed.I would have been too.I cant believe people have nothing better to do than go about posting a tag of adult content when the discussion has nothing to do with it.Hopefully Mylot will look into this and catch the person who is doing this.I have heard of some people putting all five tags in when they make a discussion as so people cant do that.Now I see why.Some people can be so immature.

Since myLot won't respond to my question about the tag, I may never find out how the tag got there or who placed it. Guess myLot has grown to be so large, they don't have the time to respond to any questions. If it was automatically placed on the discussion by myLot, I would atleast like to know this. Thanks so much for responding.

Man I can see where that'd be very annoying. When I start a discussion though, I always put in all five tags. But technically that could still happen though because if two people mark it mature content then it would outweigh your tags which only had one person put them there, at least that's how I think it works but don't quote me on that. Really sucks though how some people can do stupid stuff like that.

Oh carolbee I am so sorry! Why anyone would write adult content is beyond me. Do you think that someone may have may a slightly adult comment in one of the responses to your discussion and that's why the tag is there? I don't know why that would happen. But I think that if mature content is in a discussion the mature content tag will automatically show up in it.

Someone placed this tag on the discussion. I am not a prude and love a good, smutty joke but this particular discussion was about my daugher and a project I am knitting for her. Has notning to do with someone else's profession, so to speak. Thanks so much for responding.

You have every right to be pissed off. I dont't understand any indivisonal who do this sort of things, what is goung on in their little mind.If they keep doing that Mylot should struck them of the site. I am so sorry, hope you and your family are fine.
