hi friends!i hope you are in good health.well according to me parents should not allow their underage children to drive as it has very high risks and may lead to accidents.teenagers should understand that they are underage and are not mature enough to drive,at the same time parents should also try to make them understand that driving a car or any vehicles is not a joke,it might even take your life away if you do the slightest of mistakes.government has ordered that for driving you should be 18 years old and not obeying a rule given by the government is a crime,so in the end i would say that parents should never allow their underage children to drive.it will not only save the child from an accident but it will also save others life from being a victim of your accident. i hope you like my piece of information but other than this i would like to seek your opinion if you agree with me or you have a different opinion.

I agree with Ahgong that it should be okay for them to drive under supervision of an adult. Especially for new drivers who may not have good reflexes or be very comfortable with it yet. That being said, I do remember having some friends whose families expected them to use their cars to help out the family (getting groceries, errands, etc...), and they drove unsupervised. I guess it is up to the parents to decide if their teen is mature enough to handle the responsibility of driving, before they send him or her out on their own.

The kids legally allowed to drive are bad drivers--cocky, reckless, careless. Why would anyone let kids even younger than this operate a vehicle? Those parents are irresponsible and dumb and maybe their licenses should be taken away until they get some common sense. Driving should be taken seriously and be learned with caution. A car can kill. Accidents happen and why would you take any chances by putting an even more immature child behind the wheel.

When parents allow their underage teen drive they are teaching that They can break the law and this can carry over into other areas. There is a reason that there is an age limit and as you said they can be involved in accidents hurting or even killing themselves or others. Here where I live in the US many states the age for getting a drivers license is 16. Some state require the teen to go through a safe drivers class before they can get a license. In a lot of states teens can get a learner's permit and can drive as long as they have a 21 year old adult with them.

No, parents should not allow their underage kids to drive nor should allow them to go with their underage friends who drive. They should realize how dangerous it can be even if they consider themselves the best driver. But, it is the duty of parents to make their kids realize that their life is valuable and should not risk them. Parents should teach their kids the right value. Take care of kids.

Over the years, certain age limits have been fixed by the community, to distinguish between an adult individual and a minor/underage. A point to be noted in this regard is that "If a person is 17 years and 360 days old, his maturity and intellect as well as his driving skills will not be very much less than what it will be when he is 18 years and 5 days old. However, in order to maintain uniformity, these rules are put into perspective to separate underage and overage persons. It may so happen that a 17 year old is more mature and a better driver than another 20 year old person." But since a benchmark/threshold has been put into place by the administration/government on the lines of an age limit, we must abide by the rules, which aim to make driving and roads safer for us, and in fact are for our own good. So, I would request all parents to abide by the rules and not let your underage children drive, as you have a responsibility towards your children and towards society.

Yeah I guess you are right. Children should be allowed when they are mature enough. although there are parents that would allow them to have their children to drive cars already I still believe that it should be allowed in time.

I guess it is okay to let them drive as long as there is an experienced adult in the car with them when they are driving. Especially after they got their license and are new to the road outside the supervision of the driving instructor. As with any hot blooded teenager, they will tend to want to see how far and how fast they can go. Given the new found freedom of being able to drive and become more mobile, they will definitely be excited to get behind the wheel. No point giving them the license if they are not allowed to drive. As long as they drive supervised, I think it is ok. To be able to completely trust them with the car without supervision, well, that trust has to be earned. Till the adult that supervises them when they drive feels it is okay to let them drive on their own, then that trust will remain till the day they break that trust. As long as the teenager is taught to respect the road, and in return, respect the trust of this great responsibility call driving bestowed upon them, they can drive. No problem with me.

yes to a very much extend you are write i liked the way you expressed your opinion.teenagers are like sponges which likes to learn everything which comes across them sometimes its good but sometimes its really bad.if a person is driving and considers it as a key for fun then its his biggest mistake .believe me.

That is why you need to cultivate a good habit of driving right from the very start! Once that is imprinted into them, it will stay with them for the rest of their life! Freedom comes with great responsibility. To be given the freedom of mobility, the teenager must first learn to master the responsibilities that comes with it. There is no two ways about it.

Yes i do agree that no one should be driving without a valid drivers license. It just makes sense that you should abide by the law and drive only if you are licensed to do so. Now if you allow under aged children to drive.. that is even a big problem because they are obviously not authorised to do so. But what about families that are located in remote areas and there is a definite shortage of able drivers to handle a car or vehicle that is used like say in a farm ? In an emergency, any driver would be a welcome presence since he/she may be the only way a vehicle can be driven to seek help. Would it then be wise to allow a competent but still underaged child to drive to seek assistance ?

I believe that parents should encourage kids to learn about driving just before they come of driving age, then let them learn from a qualified driving instructor to drive safely. they should not encourage the kids to drive when they are under legal driving age. this should be strictly enforced so we have much fewer teen drivng accidents.

You hit the spot there jijo! Underage or minors are not really that mature and besides they are still at the age of exploration they still have their wild side.... they should learn first the proper preacaution and road courtesy and lastly the defensive driving....
