Why do some people find the sight of breastfeeding offensive?

Society needs to work out why it's ok to have women in the media(tv, newspapers etc) flashing their breast to impress men and it is not ok for a child to be fed! I find it difficult to understand when people say 'there's a time and a place for it' Yes, I think that the right time is when the baby is hungry and place shouldn't matter

I think that since the woman is not showing off sexually, it is offensive. People are driven by the boob world, they want to see it, but not with a baby latched to it. I suppose that would make the woman "off limits" and maybe people feel that only the father should witness the feeding of his child. I can't say that I find it offensive, but I wonder how people don't get embarrassed doing that in public? Have a Great day.

I find that the immigrants in the USA don't seem to have any qualms about this. I believe it should not be done in McDonalds like I've seen or walking around Walmart either, or in my laundrymat.

Sadly for you sherlock, "immigrants" prefer natural feeding than a formula bottle. And by the way, the baby is hungry and doesn't care if it's Mcdonalds or home.

I can't even count the number of times I have fed my baby while shopping. Nobody except the overly nosy even noticed but I bet they would have noticed if I'd just let him cry!

If your baby is hungry feed it. The health of your baby (and admittedly my ears (j/k)) is more important than the sensibilities (or lack there of) of some prude.
