Amazing how when you are depressed...

When you are depressed do you ever notice the changes it makes in you. For instance, you feel much heavier than when you are happy. Perhaps that is why people who are depressed say that they are "Weighed Down by life" where as people who are happy we say they are "on Cloud 9". Depression also affects those around you. If you think about it even changes your natural senses. You don't hear as well, you don't smell things as well. Touch is irritating. Food just doesn't taste good. I don't want this to be such a downer discussion so since we know what depression does to you, tell me, what things do you do to get out of depression.

I suffer from low grade depression which means that even when I am happy I am still depressed. It is the kind caused by the circumstances of life and it seems that it involves things I have done in the past and am still paying for. I will do stupid things like eat the wrong food, feel like going to sleep, crying a lot, and the only thing is that something big has to get me out of my depression. It has not happened yet. I still am not pregnant, yes I was thinking of being the modern version of Sarah and Elizabeth in the Bible, and I knew if we took a trip down to Florida, that would have gotten rid of it for a long while. I was not as blue when we came back from Alaska.

One thing about Sarah she was given a promise from God and it was fulfilled. Here is what faith is: you know your faith is strong when all you ever need is a promise. Abraham, even though God said his offspring would be great number, for his time had very few children. But he held onto the promise of God. When we feel like we are sinking the Bible says this in Psalm 103 "He redeems my life from the pit and crowns me with love and compassion." that is His promise to you. Ps103 tells of the benefits of knowing God. You feel like you are in a pit? God promises to bring you out of it. Let me ask you a question. If you have $100 in your hands would you need faith for God to give you $100? Answer: No. Why? because it is already in your hand. So what is faith good for? It is the belief in what you do not yet have. If you are in the pit right now, then your have not received this promise so you must have faith that God wil do what He siad he would do. One more quick question. If you received a lottery ticket with the winning numbers on it for $10,000,000 cash how would you react? Answer: you would be excited. You would be jumping up and down. Maybe even screaming. You would dance and be filled with joy. Why? you have not received the money in your hand yet. The money is not in your bank account. All you have is a "Promise" to pay you $10,000,000. So you have faith that the lottery will come through and pay you. Right? What we have in God's Word is better than a lottery ticket because it is backed by the most powerful being in all eternity. So if you believe that God will fulfill His promise to you then we need to act accordingly. If you believe that He will redeem you out of the pit then act as if He already has. Take care.

Well you are right in some respects. But you really need someone by your side during such an event as you can share ur depression with someone who knows you well as he can lift your morale. That is what i do when i feel depressed.

True. Sometimes it is good to know that there are those who will stand by you and help you through.
