Text Messaging using 1 hand - Text messaging using one hand

Today I was in a public bus and I noticed a girl in front of me using 2 hands to text her message. I remember when I received my first mobile phone years ago, I also texted using 2 hands. Over time, due to familiarity with the mobile phone key pad and functions, now I text using only 1 hand. How about you? Do you Text using 1 hand or 2 hands?

Initially i used both my hands to type messages.. But then after a course of time i started typing with one hand... In fact i don't even look at the keypad these days.. I have got familiar with the position of keys and thus type blindly. Also i type very fast these days...

I also noticed people using their both hands for typing text messages.I am none of them.I tried it seeing other people but I fail.In this way we can type fast than with a single hand.

Haha.. I'm different from u.. I started out using just 1 hand.. But as i keep changing my phone, my texting method also changes and i begin to text with 2 hands.. lol ^_^ BUt sometimes i will find it troublesome to text it with 2 hands, so i will revert back to one again.. ANd my patten keep changing till now, i can text using either my right or left hand, as well as both hands together.. lol

Hie Poohgal, I used to initially but have picked up the multitask skills over the years..most of the time the other hand will be doing something else. I have seen some who uses one finger ( index finger )to press the key pads with full concentration I guess the thumb is too big and I wonder...first of all, why get such a small size cell phone!!!! Cheers and happy posting!

Big PDA phones are 'IN' again. Anyway, I used my thumb too. I cannot imagine using my index finger to text.

Well! Some old folks do that, not so user friendly for them. But yet they want to get the smaller and 'lighter' cellphones

I use two, especially since I have a PDA phone so it is rather big so it is easier to hold the phone and text with two hands, but some times two hands are just free at the moment and one will suffice.

I use both hands usually. I am a relatively fast sms texter (I think) though I don't really send many text messages.

I don't send out text messages but when I dial someone's phone number I use only one hand. I use my left hand to hold the phone, and my left thumb to dial it. I watch my daughter when she is text messaging and she uses just her left hand and left thumb. She is so fast I am always amazed at it. I just can't get used to text messaging so I just don't do it.

I'm a 2 hander now... My previous phone was a slider & I used to use only 1 hand but now I have blackberry, I use both hands... I just type faster that way with this phone... I use this phone for both simple text messages & regular e-mail as well & I just find it easier if I use both hands...

using 2 hands in texting is just a part of familiarizing the keypad. i am like that when i had my 1st cellphone but then after a week i'm starting to get used of using 1 hand in texting. i think everyone had their own way of texting, if they're used of using 2 hands maybe its a lot more easier and quicker, especially if you're not doing anything else aside from texting. (*o*)

For me if i using my phone to sms, i normally using only 1 hands to made or reply sms. This habbit is i practise already since i got my first handphone in couple years back. I think the reason i using 1 hands when i sms is because i also using 1 hands to write with my pencil.

I message with two hands cos i think it's faster. sometimes if one hand is busy i can message with just one hand. overall, the best part is that i am so used to messaging with a phone pad that i can do so without looking at the numbers. i'm sure lots of people do that as well. it's like typing on a laptop keyboard without looking at the keypad or the screen.
