I can't believe it... I just bought something on ebay that was $255 and now when I went back to check on when my item was shipped and when to expect it to arrive... the member is no longer a registered user.
I did pay for the item through paypal so I just hope that they will reimburse me if I don't receive the item.
I'm actually buying it for a friend who is going to give me the money when I give her the item. The ebay member had a decent feedback score although only about 65 feedbacks. So I guess all I can do is wait.

Well you have 30 days with Paypal to ask for a refund, so whatever you do, DON'T let that 30 days pass because you won't see the money. let's just hope the seller will send you the item.
From Paypal you should be able to see the person email address, email them and ask if they have shipped your item and ask for proof of shipping as well.

I emailed them twice. I don't intend to let that deadline go by but they won't let me submit the dispute until 10 days have gone by which ends tomorrow. They emailed me when the item ended that they would ship as soon as possible, but never that they did.

Ouch that bites. I haven't ever had that happen to me but as a seller I have had my account hijacked and the person was selling electronics and got over $3000 of payments from people before I realized what had happened and ebay was alerted. I think the people were able to get thier money back cause they used paypal. I had nothing to do with the scam since my account had been hyjacked by a hacker. I did fell bad for the people who were scammed though. Hope you get your money back.

I would be really worried with that much money. I never buy anything for over a $100 from somone who only had 65 feedback they have not been selling very long.
I would file a dispute with paypal right away before the buyer takes their money out of their paypal account and then your money is gone.
