Computer help?!

Ok..so for the past few months I've been having a little bit of trouble with my laptop. My laptop screen goes black and flickers every once in a while. I'm not sure what is wrong with it, does anyone know how to fix this? Or if its serious? Or how much would cost to fix it? I dont know if it matters but my laptop is a 2005 Gateway. Any help would be great! Thanks!

i think ur hardware had some problems,check ur hardware by open up ur laptop chasing in the bottom,first step check ur RAM then plug it to another slot in ur laptop mainboard.if ur laptop still goes black n flicker,im afraid ur lcd connector has been damaged..if it does that can cost u a lot

I thought the problem is with the drivers so Install the system drivers For the laptop you will get one CD so you can install the drivers present in it.

i do not know what is the problem with your laptop. problem may hardware problem or software problem (monitor driver). If problem is due to software then you can correct it yourself. but if problem is with hardware then you show your laptop to some hardware vendor.
Software Problem:
if problem with your laptop is software then you look for monitor drivers. companies ways provides update for driver. may there is some bug your monitor driver that can be fixed by update your driver.
my laptop too go black & flickers some times but if you are facing the problem most often. Then you must find the cause for the problem & fix it.
