I am so happy. Today I trooped it to the welfare office with my two kids, and after they saw my paystubs, they said they would try to get me food stamps to day, but it could take up to 30 days to get cash assistance. So I just checked the EBT card(like a credit card, but for welfare benefits) and they gave me 750 dollars to buy food!...which means they gave me a retroactive payment because my hours dwindled in my last month there. Oh I am so happy, no more canned goods from the local food pantry...hooray!!!!

This is great news. I can imagine how excited you are not to have to eat canned goods from the local food pantry any longer or atleast for awhile. Have a good day, carolbee

Congrats. Wow $750. That is a ton of food. LOL The way I buy groceries $750 would last us at least 2 months.

That is always nice. I rely on the food shelf once and awhile now. i did have an EBT for awhile and it is great not having to worry about food so much. And with prices these days any help is great.

Yes, food is expensive...everything is getting affected with these gas prices! I would have to say that right now milk is sooo expensive. It cost 4.99 a gallon...Sheesh!

i have gone to a food bank in the past and our food bank was good; it had everything (no meat of course) but bread, milk, fresh fruits and veggies (of course, you had to check them over before hand). best of luck!

yeah, the food banks are pretty good, there is one in the capitol city, but in my city there was a small one, but it got me through.
