This is yet again another disgusting news to hear, which shows the negligence on the part of the doctor. An Indian doctor,Dr Santusht Perera, practicing in New Jersey removed a portion of right lung of 60-year-old Richard Flagg when he should have been operated on a tumor in the left lung, then lied and altered documents in an attempt to cover up the mistake. When the hearing was done, the doctor lied that a even a larger tumor was found in the right lung, whereas it was not. The Board barred the doctor from practicing further and also has slapped a fine of 81,000 USD.. http://in.news.yahoo.com/48/20080627/1246/twl-indian-doc-barred-from-practising-fo.html My doubt is how could a doctor, be unaware of the minimum knowledge of the operation that he is going to do.... Does the life of an individual is valued only this much. Kindly react to this friends. Cheers to all.

I am glad to hear he is barred from future practice of medicine. What was his problem does he not know his right from his left? What a shame that poor patient had to go through all of this.

Hi saivenkaat802003! Oh my goodness! That doctor made a grave mistake. News like this made me fear to go under surgery if ever I will need one. Mistakes happen and I just don't want to belong to that statistics of errors/mistakes in the medical field. Yikes! Take care and God Bless!
