This depends on how old you are , what sort of responsibilities you have and how many days you are planning to take off. In our house we all have our responsibilities demarcated. We pack our clothes individually and each carries one's own bag, one's own cards[to spend on personal vanities], The money scheduled to be paid at the hotel, for food etc.., is carried by the man /father of the house. I take a common medicine kit, some snacks , cotton, cold cream, ointments etc other items like plastic bags,. EAAch of us carries one's own books. Since I have all the household responsibility I see that fridge is emptied of all things , get a lock and key ready and also jot down important telephone numbers in my diary beforehand. I take special care t see that the medicine kit is updated. If I have other work commitments or some financial work to be finished I make a note of these some fifteen days back under the heads 'things to be done' and ' things to be taken' and keep ticking these on completion.

I think the first thing to do is read a travel book about the destination. Then look at flights that go there and book either the cheapest or the most convenient. Getting travel insurance is important. It is good to book accommodation or have some in mind around the right budget level. It can be worthwhile looking at some websites about the destination. Lastly packing light is a great thing to do. I wish you happy traveling.

There are many ways in which you can plan for traveling the best way is to make a list of all the things that are going to need for the travel. When the time is right tick of what ever you have ready.
