Ever imagined that poles of the earth, ice free.. and it is happening now in North pole.. If you happen to go North pole this summer you could perhaps have a sailing.. and they predict that it will cool again in the months of September. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,372542,00.html The global temperature increases year by year, with the reasons that every one knows.. "Global climatic changes".. Researchers have now replaced the term " Global warming" with " Global Climatic Changes"... silly.. isn't it.. Will it reduce the ever growing temperatures of the earth.. Cheers friend.

Hello dear svka. I don't think that it is any good for the north pole to be melting...ice free. It is imaginable what the weather will be like in the following years. Right now we have already felt the great change of the weather. It is time to take some effective way of protecting the environment by governments of different countries. I am getting worried for this change and such.

Environmentalists always plan.. conduct meets, summits,... organise seminars.. but hardly implement any thing in their daily life, what they ask everyone to implement in the regular life without fail to save earth.

iceberg - "It seems unimaginable, but for the first time in recorded history the North Pole may be free of ice this summer, according to a published report Friday."
Quoted as follows, "It seems unimaginable, but for the first time in recorded history the North Pole may be free of ice this summer, according to a published report Friday."I just read the news based on the link you offered. I hope that it will stay with the ice there as the picture of the iceberg is so beautiful. It is hard to imagine the north pole without any ice. Here is the photo I find for you to see. Thanks for the link.

Hi saivenkaat, the increase of global temperature has always been a great worry to all people who are conscious of the environmental changers and its serious consequence. There are many causes for such changers. One of them I had learned from an article one of the causes is the great quantity of carbon dioxide produced from our planet every minute. So it is time for us to think seriously how to reduce all human activities that can bring harmful effect to our environment in respect of pollution and undesirable physical changers like temperature. Regarding the melting of the north pole icebergs we can say it would bring a great disaster to our earth, as many of the low land areas would be flooded due to the rising sea level. Of course we won’t like to see the ice disappearing for just to exploit the valuable oil and mineral deposits below the icebergs in the seabed. If it were so, I might go early and have a look of this magnificent natural scene of the north pole before it has disappeared for good.

Hi saivenkaat, this topic of discussion is really meaningful as it could truly arouse the awareness of the environmental care and the crisis of the dreadful consequence of the melting ice in the North Pole. Hoping that through this awareness we could at least try our best to do something to lessen the damage to our beloved planet intentionally in our daily life. Thanks for awarding me the best response. Cheers.

There's nothing happening that hasn't happened before. How else could there be fern fossils under that ice? And I'm curious... according to some environmental alarmists, the melting ice cap will add enough water to shrink continents... anyone seen any shoreline flooding lately? Also, I'd like to know what, in reality, can be done about it?

Well said.. the essence of the problem remains... only the officials change.. It seems that every politician, be in any country tries to ride on the problems.. a good way they have found to make money.. To speak in our language... they have learnt how to monetize the problems..where under they branch out a new complex problem to solve the earlier one.

I think the world is going to be so strange in these years. It seems that it is becoming worse if we don't pay attention to stop the pollution. There are some serious natural disasters in my country. And from TV I learned that the temperature is 46 degrees in California and that's so horrible. We have to do something to better our environment. Otherwise I am afraid that there is no good place for us to live. I love China
