I am the 'pencil' type of person. If given a choice, I would use Pencil only and not pen. But too bad, the adult world only accepts pen and not Pencil. There are 2 types of Pencils - Wooden and Mechanical. I know Artists prefer using Wooden pencils to draw as Wooden pencils are better for drawing. I am no artist. In fact, I can't draw . I often wish I can though. Sigh.. Despite I am not an artist, I also prefer using a Wooden pencil. I guess the reason is it brings back a lot of childhood memories as when I was young I love buying cute wooden pencils, erasers and sharpeners. How about you? Do you prefer to use Wooden Pencil or Mechanical Pencil? Why?

I love pencils .. i guess i am also one of those 'pencil persons' ... I dont know why, pen feels. .. too work related and boring, and pencil feels nice, homely and comfortable. (Yes i CAN be this weird at times) ... Anyways .. mechanical pencils are ok. . i still prefer wood-lead ones any day. They were good and when you sharp them with a sharpener, they make a nice sound. Mechanical however, comes with a box of lead which i almost always spill and it takes me ages to pick them up.

Yeah, i agree with u, i like to use pencil too, but my reason is different from u.. lol ^_^ MY handwriting is very ugly, and so if i use pencil, i can alwasy erase it and write a better one out.. lol ^_^ And i dun like to use mechanical pencil even though it's mich comfortable, because of the lead.. As i'm a leftie, my hand will tend to cover and drag on the words i written previously, and so the lead will somehow stick the skin of my hand and smerge my whole writing.. So i bo bian, have to use wooden pencil instead even though it's hard to grip..

Without any sentiments being attached, i would simply use the wooden pencil. The Lead in the mechanical one keeps breaking. Also I used to enjoy sharpening wooden pencils.

Yea. I have that problem. The lead in mechanical pencil keeps breaking. I guess I write with too much strength.

Hi friend, i am fond of drawing. I use mechanical pencil for technical drawing. And for pencil drawing or simple sketches i use wooden pencils. I love to write with pencil. I don't like circular shape, but hexagonal shape. I prefer apsara pencils. Thanks

I don't care about what kind of pencil if they can draw pictures and writing.^^Wooden pencil reminds me of my childhood. In my primary school,we often use this to write some words and sentences.and before we went to school every morning,we will check whether they were truncated already. And now,i don't use pencil unless the exams.mechanical pencil,it's convenient.^^

My preference is the mechanical pencil. I like it because the lead is alway consistent. With a wooden pencil the lead gets thicker as it is worn down with use. I like a number 2 lead too. Pencils don't really trip my trigger but note books do. I only use an ink pin when I really have to. I tend to make a lot of mistake so need an eraser.

Mechanical pencil makes the writing looks neater.

It would definitely be the mechanical pencil for me. The simple reason is that the wooden one gets blunt easier and it is trouble to sharpen it, use it a while then only to need to resharpen it.

I use both pen and pencil. But when it comes to pencil I've been using mechanical pencils more. I draw sometimes but I'n not a real artist or anything but even when I do draw I use mechanical pencils.

I used to prefer a wooden pencil since it is sturdy and easy to handle. It is also less prone to breaking while drawing or writing. The only thing I hate about it is that you have to sharpen it frequently. Recently though, I've been using a mechanical pencil. I think it is more convenient. Although the lead is very prone to breakage since you have to be very gentle and careful while drawing or writing. All in all, I think wooden pencils offer quality while mechanical pencils offer convenience. It all comes to one's preference. Right now I prefer the mechanical one since I don't draw or write much nowadays.

I prefer mechanical pencils since they do not have to be sharpened. Also for the simple reason that I find when I write with a mechanical pencil the writing tends to be neater and clearer, I guess that's because of the fine point of the lead tip.

I'd agree. A mechanical pencil is always sharp and the writing is neater because the pencil is so much finer than a traditional wooden pencil. The only time I prefer a wooden pencil is for writing shorthand. I find a UK 2B lead is best then; although there are special shorthand writing pencils, I used these and 2B pencils when learning shorthand, but since then I always use a 2B.

I always prefer to use a wooden pencil, this is because I am heavy handed when I write and a mechanical pencil does not last me two minutes!

I prefer wooden pencils. They are cheaper and last longer. I do mot mind sharpening the pencils. I love to draw and sometimes I write with pencils. I have many soft rubbers and sharpeners which I share with my son. My son also uses wooden pencils as his school prefer their students to use wooden pencils. I believe the reasons why schools prefer wooden pencils are wooden pencils do not break easily and children tend to draw alot. Wooden pencils are also needed in shading the right answers in answering sheets.

I prefer both wooden pencils and mechanical pencils. but, yet, i use mechanical pens the most. i choose different types of them, but my favorite are the ones with light blue color and are a little bit trasparent. i mostly use wooden pencils when drawing, but im just like you are, im not a good artist.

I use only wooden pencils. I don't know why, but I press the pencil hard against the paper and all the mechanical pencils simply snap. And that irritates me to no end. So I always keep wooden pencils in my purse. They are cheaper too.
