Religious Touting

What do you people think about religious touting? Let's not talk about which religion in particular but focus on the topic in general. Do you like people approaching you in the streets with a pamphlet and convincing you that you should take up their religion? Commercial touting and religious touting, should they be seen as of equal standing? Share your views! Refer to www.furykid.blogspot.com/2008/06/religious-touting-in-singapore.html

I can't tolerate people who approaches me with a pamphlet or so.. I will guarantee you that I will walk pass that particular person but treating him/her as transparent. Because i've placed my faith in my religion whereby no one could ever make me change my mind. (:

It's heartening to hear of your strong conviction to your religion :

I think religion is as legitimate a topic of conversation as anything else. If you wouldn't be bothered by a person striking up a conversation about any of your other interests then why should religion be any different? I remember once, I was on a bus, someone was wearing a religous t-shirt, so (being the kind that often starts conversations in public places), I asked him something about his church... I kind of laughed when he said, "my religion is none of your business". ;~D

Religion could be a legitimate topic of conversation but only if both sides want to talk about it. Pitching one religion against another is definitely not going to be friendly

Yes both are trying to sell you something, products or religion and I am not buying as I am happy with my own religion thank you very much. I do not like it at all as it disrespects my religous rights and my consumer rights. do not preach and do not soft soap me with your sales pitchs as I am not buying.

I have no problem with anyone approaching me with their evangelical fervor. My hackles rise up when they ignore me after I tell them I'm not interested. This happens more often than not. Why can't they just move on to the next would-be convert and leave me alone?
