When scrubbing your pans - what do you like to use? I have stainless steel pans and I love them, but for somethings such as eggs it can be really difficult to clean. I will soak them a bit, then use a scrapper to get the heavy stuff off and if there is still more to go I will use a brillo or SOS type of pad.

For egg you should soak it in cold water. A trick that always works for me is to put water in the pot, a drop of dish liquid and let it simmer on the stove. It will loosen up the stuck on, burned on food. Take a spatula to work at it if you need to. Don't let it boil over!

oh interesting! I would have not thought to use cold water - and have always used hot. I will have to give cold a try. isn't it funny that cold water would work - yet heating it up on the stove is also a solution?

Always cold on eggs. So it becomes solid and you can get it off easier.

I used to hate doing pots and pans, they were the biggest hassle to deal with. Now I cook on my indoor grill machine and microwave and there are no pots and pans to clean! When I did clean pans, I would use Brillo or baking soda to soften the mess.

i dont have problem so much on scrubbing since my pot is a non-stick one and vision pan(made of glass) which is easy to clean up (glass one) i just pour some vinegar and let it boil then scraped it..while on the non-stick i just used hot water and sponge to clean it..

I too have stainless steel cookware. I soak them first then use a little scrubber that is made by Echo. It has a round knob that fits in the palm of your hand and attached to that are bristles. It works wonders. If that doesn't get it, I soak again and then use a scraper. Barkeeper's friend works great for occassional cleaning/shining from lots of baked on goo. I absolutely love my stainless steel cookware and try to encourage everyone to get this type when they are shopping for cookware.

i soak them then take a steel scrubby to it.i hate the copper ones, because they tend to get nasty in the sink.the worst has to be when somebody burns rice-you definetly need the steel for that.

i usually soak them so I don't have to scrub with anything since I don't want to scratch my pans. I have also found that if I put a little bit of water in the bottom of the pan and put it back on the burner (electric) while it is cooling it helps keep things from sticking.

I have a plastic scrubbie...and also this cool little brush that you fill the handle with dish soap and it releases the soap while you scrub. It's good for pots and pans but also good for cleaning stubborn areas like around your faucets.
