addicted to text messaging

June 27, 2008 9:29pm CST
I find myself texting people more then i speak to them on the phone. Does anyone else find that they are addicted to texting and get mad when someone doesnt respond right away?

actually i like talking with my friends on text and or sms than on phone, but of course there are things better said over the phone and or on instant messaging like work matters, it is hard to explain things using sms. its just not possible.

It is hard sometimes, when someone sends about a 5 page text and they dont come in right away. Its fustrating and it gets very confusing as well.

I wouldnt say I am sddicted to txt messaging but I prefer to text people rather than call them up. Before I got married to my husband I used to get worried if I text him and he dosnot reply back...thinking that something might have happen to him...paranoid me!!! But now after marriage I don't get worried anymore. The revelation came to me that he might be on the bike/ busy or even in the toilet that's why he can't reply back so fast. ehhehe silly me to go get worried last time.

I have the same problem with my boyfried!! I guess I am paranoid to. I have to learn to calm down and not get worried. BUt I find texting is a great way to keep in contact with people who have very busy lives.

Hi friend, I think the message is importent to me,you know, the most I texted in one day was about 135.That is for my girlfriend, that day I made a mistake, and she was angry with me, no answered calling,so I had to send the massage,I am also surpised. Also,I think texting massage is interesting, and some time we can not answer the call,we just can text the massages. And sometimes some words is hard to say,so you can also text massages. But I think I am not addicted to do it or getting mad, because, sometime the calling is better than massage. And it is just a way for comunication,we should not mind it madly.Thank you for your discussion ,goodluck.

I think that text messaging is a way that people can communicate in a different way with busy lives. I think its also good that when people are angry they have a different way to communicate besides phoning and saying something that they dont mean. I have been up in the 100s before too becuase of freidns trying to plan things and keeping in contact with people from university.

Yes sometimes That happens, When they dont respond right away. It is normal for people not to do that, as they have their own lives and are probably doing something else. Dont over react since someone does not respond that quickly. They will probably tell you anyways ^^. Also Texting is normal it costs less and alot of people are shy to talk on the phone. Alot easier to keep a discussion going through texting. Since we have time to think about it. Our sub conscious section. I was texting while writing this also.

Thats why I text becuase it is cheaper and I am shy to talk on the phone. But sometiems i feel people text becuase they dont want to face people with every they have to say when its something bad. I do think that having time to think about what people are saying allows for less fights, but sometimes people can take things the wrong way.

Not me, not at all. I would much rather talk to the person, than spend all my time squinting at that tiny little screen. It is a fun concept, typing to people, and them getting the mesage instantly, it's a noelty, but to me that is all it is. I I have something important to say, I'd much rather talk to the person voice to oice.

i am really addicted to texting but i'm don't get mad if they don't respond right away. i am really fond of texting my frends, family rather than talking to them. Maybe because it's more economical but aside from that it give me a kind of enjoyment that i can't explain.

I am not addicted to text messaging. Years back, I do text a lot but I would not consider it an addiction. I prefer talking than texting. I find that more practical. I also do not get mad when someone doesn't respond right away. Besides, if it's really important, I would rather call.

I am in no way addicted to text messaging, and instead avoid it whenever possible,I would much rather call someone or message them online, because texting takes a lot of work, and a lot of time, unless you are really really good at it.

hello amandar, ask that to a Filipino (I am) and most responses you get will be yes. Not really addicted to text, but it's what most of us prefer. Most prefer to send a text message that give a call because it's very much cheaper. And the network providers provide free text promotions, some even offer unlimited texts. So, of course we rather use our free text than to spend some amount for a call. Have a great day!

Well to me if i asking some question in sms and if i wait for more that 5 minutes that person didn't reply me back, i will get angry. How busy i am if somebody sms me to asking for something from me,sure i will reply he/she sms even i need to wait more longer to reply it back. Couse to me the sms is same making or answer any call in the handphone. Do you mad if you call somebody, but that person didn't answer you?

I got addicted to text messaging before but these days I find it easier to call my friends than just text them as they cannot respond to me right away because it would cost them to respond to me via text. But I did experience unlimited text messaging back home in the Philippines. It was fun. I don't get mad though if they cannot respond right away.
