I'm a music lover, not just a lover but also a music freak and a visionary. I love listening and collecting music so much and this is the main reason why I did not include mp3 in my selection. For me the only collectibles for music are long playings, 45s or cds. In my choice, if I have given the chance to be born earlier like 1960's I would definitely collect and go for long playings. Why? because lps are more exciting to collect, you clean them once in awhile and most of all the sound clarity is just so amazing. It makes you feel like the artist is just at your side playing. You can feel the whole vibe of the music. Unfortunatley, I came from a generation cd wherein all new artist and classics are moving to this format and which made lps almost obsolete. Its also cheaper and there's a wide variety to choose from. Cds have value also because of their durability and compactness. Though their sound is too digital that's why listening to it makes it a lot easier and makes you less excited. Unlike lps it goes in your spine. That's why I like Lps than cds only if I have so much money to burn.
