ive always been one but i have noticed that more things are 24 hours and more places are doing breakfast or all of their menu all day/night long.. while there is still way too much that isnt open late but at least things are starting to be more into my sleeping habits so are you a night owl? do you think thing have gotten better about being on our schedule too?? do you think eventually it will be the same as being on day shift hours all the time??

I am a Night Creature, and I don't mind saying that I am damn proud of it! :) I have mainly returned to my nocturnal habits since I retired in 2000. I celebrated leaving a job that had me on the (SHUDDER) Day Shift. I am now working my own business(es), and I can do whatever I want. This includes sleeping from Dawn Til Dusk, like Sane Folks do! LOL! I absolutely recommend the Night Life, esepcially if you living in a hell-hole of an Urban Daymare, like this town. Mr.Crime, Ms.Noise and their offspring, populate the daylight hours around here. This is because most of these folks are afraid to go out at Night... This make for a beautiful set of working and walking hours for my Tree Loving, Earth Worshipping, Axe Throwing Pagan Self... Bring on the night! :)

BTW: The acceptance of nightworkers in most Urban towns and cities, and providing conveniences for them is practicallay a given these days. As most jobs have evolved into service jobs the culture seems to have adapted to the fact that there are people who live their Lives on the right side of the clock... In this part of town there are several universities and colleges that have an active nocturnal population, along with the support staff and amenities to make conveniences and services just as plentiful as they are during daylight hours. I enjoy the fact that there is a full service supermarket with 24-7 hours. There are even laundries and restaurants here... The sad thing is that only a few blocks away from all this good stuff, there is Urban blight and a High crime zone... Such is City Life.

It's possibly the Tennisee culture thing, Moonlit... Slow, Southern and Sleepy. It'll be good for your writing though, I hope! :)

You could be right about that and this would mean that more places are having more activity at night in some places. So there will be some places open 24 hours. Do you have a Wal-Mart that is 24 where you live? I think that just about every town does. I would call myself a night owl.I'm up at night not all not but most of the night. I would have to say like right now it's 11:17pm and i'm on the pc. I could be up here for the next hour or so and then go to bed. Not go to sleep though watch tv til I fall asleep. Then there are times that I should have just stayed on the pc and they went sleep. I'm not much on going out at night cause driving is not all that great. I can't say that I have gotten better it's about the same as always. On the pc and then some tv and then sleep. If I had a work I would rather be on nights instead of days. It wouldn't make much of a difference cause they are the same just different times of the day.

One of these days the small town might surprise you and the Ihop might end up being 24. That would be good. But until then there is wal-mart for now. Have a good one.

well, i am more of a morning person rather than a night owl... i always sleep early at night and wake up early in the morning as me and my hubby both are working morning shifts... we prefer morning shifts job as well rather than night shifts as we feel fresher in the morning rather than at night and it suits our lifestyles better... take care and have a nice day...

I used to be a night owl as you call us, but I trained myself to sleep at night, because there was just so much I missed out on during the day. Also, it's very hard for me to get anything done over the course of a night, but it's easy to get things done during the day, because I don't have to worry about waking people up. When I get sick, my sleeping pattern gets messed up, so I'm still partially a night owl.

Yes, I definitely think shops and fast food places will end up being open all hours! My husband loves all-day breakfasts, because that's the kind of food he likes at any hour of the day - so if we're on holidays, he loves being able to get a breakfast at 1 or 2pm!

In the area of Lexington that I live at, there are only two places that are open 24 hours, Wal-Mart and SpeedWay. I wish that night owls were more accepted here because being one myself, I can't even go out to grab a bite to eat at a good restaurant without using a big portion of my tank of gas.

Hi moonlitmagikchild, I am in NYC so you can just imagine almost everything is open 24/7. I can walk to about 8 deli's open any time of the night and there are about 10 restaurants open in my immediate area (in walking distance). I am a night owl too, always have been so when ever I need something from the store I just go downstairs and walk to one of them. The private doctors offices in my area are not open 24/7 but they now have office hours during the day on Sundays. How times have changed.

I've always been like this too. And it kicked my butt when I was in college when I had to take early classes, most the time I didn't bother sleeping at all, because I can't just sleep 2 or 3 hours. LOL Yea, it's cool that places are starting to be open later/all night. I don't go out much at this point, but I think I would definitely like it if I had the option to live on my own hours. I am just more awake and energized at night, that and I like the dark.. the sun hurts my eyes, and the heat--yuck! LOL I don't know if things will ever be made to work with our sleep schedules, but I am certainly hoping for it! Bad thing is, I don't drive, and my mom has trouble seeing to drive after dark, so I don't get to go out much, especially at night.

I've aways been a night owl too. I guess living in a bigger city there has always been something open. Nowadays, the larger grocery stoers are even open so If I need something, there,s no problem. The last time I had a day job I always had a problem making it on time! Cheers, Tianna

yeah night owls are more geting accepted these days owing to the hard nature of he work these days and also one has to do overtimes for more savings and meeting up their expenses and also sometimes sme person cant sllep at the night due to the load of tensions on their minds and they keep on thinking that waht they have done today and what they will begin with tomorrow and the just get caught up in their tensions and it gets hard for them to get escaped from their tensions and worries so summary gets to a conclusion that at some point or the other every body is a night watcher or a night owl what about you.............!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
