Have you ever sold anything on e-Bay that you thought no one would buy in a million years?? The more I've looked around e-Bay the more surprised I am at what sells there. We recently sold a broken iPod on e-Bay for good money. It was broken! Apparently people buy all sorts of broken items there. Let me know what you've sold that you consider strange or funny.

I sold some white trash. Nothing like white trash to spruce up your neighborhood. It consisted of a styrofoam plate and cup, paper plate, plastic fork, straw, some rings from soda bottles, printer paper and some other things. All white of course. I have other ideas for silly auctions but have not had time to make them. I understand buying broken items. If they can repair it or use it for parts then it can be profitable. I've dissected some electronics and have sold them as separate parts on ebay.

I think the trangest thing I've sold was a vintage tin toy robot, missing the head.

That really is weird that someone would want a broken iPod. Perhaps they wanted it for a part (faceplate or something). I have perused ebay at length and I am amazed sometimes at the things that are being sold. I don't know how strange or funny it is, but I sold some seashells on ebay. Our family went to the beach each summer for about 9 years. We had accumulated so many seashells and I had used all that I could in crafts and other ways. I was going to throw them out and someone suggested that I put them on ebay. They got a bid almost immediately and the container of shells sold for 20 dollars! That was years ago. I haven't sold on ebay in over 5 years. I wouldn't know how or where to begin now. I understand that they have made many changes and are very unfair to sellers now. Don't know how much truth there is to that statment.

Wow - $20 for sea shells. You can go to Wal-Mart and buy bags of them for $2.99. I think it's great when you can profit from something you thought wasn't worth anything. Don't know about e-Bay being unfair to sellers. It seems to me that the fees are pretty much the same that they have always been. You really have to sell for a good price to cover fees tho. Thanks for responding.
