so alot of you out there will think you know what is beauty..
but what is it?!?!?
you may say someone is beautiful is she is thin...
and models are beautiful, but some models are so thin they look ike they have a eating problem!!!
some are even size zero!!!
and also in the sahars,
women are deemed beauty when they are really really fat.
they are fed large quantities of milk and porriage since young..
and the grown women will have a special diet to ensure that they are always fat..
dont beleive me?

some may say beauty is when your eyes are huge, but what about a person who is being shunned because of her extra lauge eyes?
some may say that beauty is having symetrical features,
but what if you have a symetrical face but a ugly one?
is beauty just what people think it is?
does it fit a norm or does it really exist?
does it change from culture to culture or is it even everywhere?
is there such thing as an ideal beauty?
if so, what is it?
how do we think of something as beautiful?
do attractive people really have the upper hand because they look good?

well you yourself said so many things about beauty that i really don't think there is anything left for me say. one thing i want to say about " do attractive people really have the upper hand because they look good?"
answer is no
beauty is not all about how you look. it also important how to behave with others and how to talk with others. if a girl is very beautiful but she do not behave while talking to other. then will never talk to that girl no matter how beautiful she is.

I think beauty is many different things. It can be purely asthetic. It can be an attitude. It's different things to different people. Some peole may believe that attractive people get the upper hand because of their looks but they are really just being used. They may get things because they are beautiful but only because people want things from them, not because they are really loved. I think this world would be so much better if looks were never considered. People should never be judged because the genes from their parents happened to combine in a certain way making them attractive or unattractive. It only matters who they are on the inside. And that is true beauty.

"Beauty" in my opinion is a combination of many, many things and not just any specific physical asset or combination of physical attributes. I have met people in my life that others fall all over because of their looks etc yet when they open their mouth and their personality shines through; they suddenly don't seem so attractive anymore!
Different cultures place a different emphasis on varying physical attributes to define beauty; and off course we all have our own personal ideals of what we find attractive in another. For me, a person comes across as beautiful because of their heart, their mind, their sense of humour; their personality; the way they carry themselves, their confidence and their ability to "shine".
I know it does sound cliche; but beauty DOES come from within. In terms of my partner, she possesses many positive qualities and her physical attractiveness is just a bonus as far as I am concerned!

I didn't actually go into that aspect of it! But you are right in that "beautiful people" have a better chance in life. It has actually been researched and proven that this is the case. Sad but true!
As for first impressions, I do agree that it is the look that initially attracts attention. But I have also been in a room and heard a voice or a laugh and immediately wanted to know who this was! Attraction runs on many levels.

It is rightly said that "Beauty is on the beholder's eye". There is no measurement for beauty. In beauty competitions the organizers sets some scales to measure beuty only for the convenience. In different countries beauty is measured by different aspects. In some people huge eyes looks beautiful but we also say that somebody else with small narrow eyes are beautiful. The overall appearance decides the beauty. For me its the appearance, personality, behaviour and purity of mind decides beauty.

i totally agree with your last statement..
that apperarance, presonality, behaviour and purity of mind decides beauty...
it is really true as most people will just be looking for inner beauty!!!
and using your five senses will help you see if that person is turly beautiful or not!!!
sight: if she is plesant looking
smell: if she has body odour
hearing: if she speaks vulgarities
taste: ummm...cant think of any now...
touch: if she has a good complection

I am sure you've heard "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" and I firmly believe this. It's our own perception. There are people who modify their bodies for the sake of pleasing others but I see this as a waste of time and money since there will always be someone who finds them beautiful. However, I do believe that beautiful people (by societies standards) are more successful, and so I can understand why people would want to fit in and be accepted by society.

as one who has been under the knife to shape myself to become pleasing to other's eyes i feel that this is a really opinions good response as i think that it shows that people will have different on you once you have suited the standard of being beautiful in society.

Beauty is the secreat of the personality, many of searching for beauty in faces,hands,body,longlegs,back shape, long hair,round face, small lips, long eyes,likes many ways, but is that all the things make beauty? no I don't think these all the things will make a beauty, when the person have a perfect figure, understanding capacity, matured manners, society knowledge, adjustment level with all types living standards,and realastic personality will makes the perfect beauty of women.

I think that beauty is confidence. We are all beautiul in diferent ways, but if we are happy with ourseves, and confident in our lives, we will look beautiful no matter how we look. Beauty is no ONE thing, in my view.

According to me the beauty is how you behave and talk with others, inner beauty is very important than the out side beauty, if you have a good heart then defenitely that will reflect on your face , what ever color may you be that reflects on your face and your face looks more attractive, people like to spend some time with you because of your nature and the way you behave with others, I dont give importance to physical beauty so I dont know much about it.

yes there can be no standard definition to beauty-what may seem to b beautiful to one person may not be the same to other.men and women have different perception of beauty.also definition of beauty varies from region to region.

beauty is in the eye of the beholder i am certain you"ve heard,its in what we see and how we perceive it.example you see a rose and go OMG look at that and you want to touch it and smell it you say its beautiful and you"ll tell everyone who will listen about that rose now if some else sees it they may go hmm? i have seen better they probably have beauty i think lies in experience seeing something for the first time,smelling,hearing,touching,you recall those moments when you lie awake and smile at them beauty for me is in memories of better times that in my mind last forever

beauty is the thing that caught our attention and made us attracted. i like most beauty if it is simple. just like in a girl, i like those girl who are just simple. i like girl with simple dress and make ups. i most adore things in their simpliest form and thats what i called beauty...

A person who is confident ( not self absorbed though ) is often perceived as beautiful. Therefore beauty is a fluid concept. If a someone lives in a location where being fat, for example, is beautiful- then that person will be more confident. So it's kind of self perpetuating. Maybe I should ditch my diet and move to the Sahara! :D

Some beauties I enjoyed,
1.Morning sun
2.Smile of a Child
3.Sweating of a Hardworking labour
4.Kiss from your lover
5.Mist in the early morning
6.First beating from ur school teacher
These things never change in any culture...
But girls who are slim and tall are liked by everyone....In all the culture(most cultures) i witnessed US and Indian cultures .These things are common even in China and Singapore too.
Girls with tall hair are liked by me(India)...But Clear Face is liked by everyone...without any pimples or But slim & tall is beauty always but everyone is not tall and fair...beauty lies in the heart ...What do u say???
