My daughter loves puddles. With all the rain we have been having, I took her outside and we splash for an hour. She thought it was the greatest thing. It was so much fun. I can still hear her giggles. Have you ever done this?

Yes! Playing in the rain and splashing in puddles are great activities for parents and children. Heck, they are great activities for adults too. Sometimes we need to unleash our inner child. I have a current myLot discussion asking folks to list a fun summertime activity that costs less than a dollar. Playing in the rain would certainly qualify! For some reason we seem to think that it is horrible for kids to get wet or dirty. These types of activities are such fond memories for children that it is worth it to have to wash their clothes!

I love it and miss it now that we live in CA!!! We just play in the pool now! Kids only live once and as long as they have a bathtub and washing machine, then let them have at it!

My son loves to go out and play in the rain. I do not go out and join him very often though. Here lately though he has not really been able to because it seems like every time it rains there is a storm along with it and he is not playing outside in the rain.

My husband just recently took our 6 month old daughter out in the rain to play. She has a condition called Optic Nerve Hypoplasia so she couldn't see anything, but she still loved to feel the raindrops on her skin. She was laughing every time they hit her. Justin would take her out and let them hit her and then bring her back in and then take her out again. It seemed like she was having a good time. It made us happy.
