Help Editing My Preferences

I have responded to a discussion but am unable to post it due to restricted preferences. I don't remember selecting any preferences when I signed up and when I click on "Edit Your Preferences" all that is available is customizing my profile, and fields regarding avatar, slogan, website name and website URL. Help please.

It sounds like the mature content thing that the person above mention.
It is under 'edit your preferrences', then 'account information', and then look at the bottom and there will be a box that you need to check.
It's not easily found if you don't know where to look, but it's at the bottom, near the 'new password' block.
