I think I'd rather work in a company than be the boss, if that means I'd be in charge of a lot of people. I don't like the thought of being in charge. I don't think I would be a good leader for lots of people. I'd rather not have such much responsibility.

Hi ritchel! The only experience I have working for a Boss was when I was a fresh graduate from College. I worked in a government office but my boss' superior is my mother. So, I really haven't felt any pressure at that time. I just worked there for just two and a half months and then went to open up my own businesses..since then, I was my own boss. I do like it, being my own boss. I was a workaholic and have driven myself hard to achieve a successful business at that time. I was successful then and I was happy and contented. I guess, working for someone else is not really my cup of tea. I am too stubborn to be tied on a desk or to follow someone's orders at that time. I have my own strategies, ideas and concepts and I guess, I always follow my intuition. For me, it works well with me being the Boss. Take care and God Bless!

Well, ritchel, I have been both and it depends on the situation as to which position is best. When I had subordinates who were teachable and loyal, it was very gratifying being the boss. Being in a position to help others develop their professional talents in gratifying. On the other hand, being a subordinate is easy because you can expect responibility to be pushed up the chain-of-command. You biggest concern is being where you are suppose to be when you are suppose to be there plus avoiding the rumor mill. I am flexible enough and comfortable enough to lead or follow as the situation requires.

I have worked in small companies medium companies and very large companies. My best experiences were when I worked in a large company. There are a lot of responsibilities being the boss, unless you are a sole proprietor, and no one else is involved. I think I would rather work for myself, and leave all the off politics and back stabbing behind. Being your own boss, you have yourself to blame if things goes wrong. You will know that it is your fault, and not have others blame you for things that you have not done. You have yourself to please, and do not have to worry about working up to someone else's expectations.

I prefer to work for myself. I don't have to answer to anyone else, I get to set my own hours and I am responsible for my mistakes/victories. I also get to set my own rate of pay. Most companies nowadays, in an effort to pay less tax, are outsourcing most of their work.

Depends what you want out of life. This depends on alot of things really. Some companies are limited, when you are the boss you set the limitations. Working for a company has a for sure pay check as long as you play the game right. Being the boss you may sometimes have to do without in order to keep the company afloat. Personally I think the best response for this is somewhere inbetween being the boss and working for a company. I think the perfect type of company is one where everyone has a concensus say with as much to gain and as much to loose. Simple queastion for a great post! The answer is just a bit more coomplicating. Better a company where everyone booses and everryone works. Peace:)
